Troof.

A $50k Evo is a lot easier to finance than a $100k car imported from Japan.

P.S. I'm also hoping to see the hatchback.

I purchased my '05 GSR brand new in late 2004. I still have it and it is my daily driver. I'm also currently looking to purchase new cars for my wife and myself. It will be interesting to see what this "new" Evo might bring to the table.

Some of the comments in here put to words the reason I want an Evo3 and an Evo5. When you consider only about 5k of the early evos were made for each generation and never sold in the US, I dont see the price falling out of the bottom and there is plenty of room to run. These are the "muscle cars" of our era. One day we'll be watching Barrett Jackson or whatever the contemporary equivalent and there will be Evos and GTRs going across the block for outrageous sums. Too bad I only have a 2 car garage right now.

I likewise make just under or just over 100k depending on several factors. Residing now in a low cost of living state like Missouri helps. But I'm also old (36), so I've had time to buy things and save money and pay stuff off.

I'm 45 and still refuse to make wise financial decisions related to cars. Cars, as a rule depreciate. Especially when I convert them into track vehicles
I'm about to drop about $40k on a 12 year old car as a "fun weekend" car. Definitely not wise.
For me, cars are an expense I'm okay with. I'll never ever, ever buy one as an "investment". I've never seen the point in owning something I won't use (just my opinion).
But, I don't care. Cars are the ONE thing I'm passionate about will spend above and beyond, in order to have enjoy them. The rest of my life is spent very much responsibly and on the cheap. I don't even smoke... rarely drink...cars and energy drinks are my only vices. LOL

Yea... if you are a car enthusiast you never will. I'm 44 and still continue to make stupid financial decisions around cars.

So nothing in the OP's posted article has a real reference or facts that can be verified.

Has anything official, anywhere, been put out?

They should want to present some real information to start building real interest.
