bshr stg 4 w/ BR 400 vs 04 cobra
The thing about those supercharged V8s is that a pulley upgrade is very stealthy.
Its hard to hide an aftermarket exhuast but definitely not hard to hide a custom tune and a pulley upgrade. Don't feel bad for losing, like the above poster said they dyno very high. 390hp is closer to WHP than CHP.
Its 2.0 vs 4.6...he's got a major advantage!

Not Really I see both blocks on par as both are limited to the boost they run. The Cobra is DAMN NEAR 4000 pounds and is over it with a driver, it does have an advantage from a roll, but any Evo with a large enough turbo will be just as fast, both motors can make over 500WHP on pump gas.
I am not to happy with the BR turbo, especially the 440, its unproven and just slightly larger then the stocker. I doubt you will see the numbers you want with that turbo, and if you do, the lag will kill it other wise. IMHO Nothing beats a BB 50 Trim for a street pump gas turbo, and that is the only turbo to get for the street.

Dont sweat it.
I sold my 03 cobra for the evo. The evo is a better all around car... but... from a roll, the cobra is fu$#ing unbelievable. I had a fairly taime version (intake, borla stingers and Nitto drag radials)... even so, it was virtually unstoppable from a 2nd gear pull.
From a dig, the car would exhibit terminal wheel hop. The car wouldn't go around a corner or stop to save its life... but from a 30MPH - 120MPH roll... GOODNIGHT.

what cams you running......
also, the cobra did not has a intake and just a catless exhaust.... definatly a pulley chip and tune... im very knowledgable about cobras and a intake and exhaust 04 cobra would not beat your car....

On pump gas 91oct I figure your at about 340-360 whp so he should own you from a roll.
There is zero wrong with his setup, the Cobra should have easily beat him.
1) He was running 91 octane gas, so inorder to substitute for the weak 2.0L displacement you have to run high-boost, not possible on 91 octane.
2) The 03+ Corbra's are very fast, much faster from a roll unless they have slicks.
3) The BR400 put down 400 on 93 octane, so anything less, like the numbers you make on 91 is less than he makes stock.
4) If you want to go up against a Cobra street racing and win you'll have to invest in a larger, laggy turbo like a GT35R, which is horrible for road racing.
To take an even tamer race, a Stage 1+ Evo on 91 octane would probably lose badly to a LS1 with intake, full exhaust and reprogram from a 75+ roll. My friends LS1 with a mild cam is much faster than my heavily modified Evo (race gas at the dragstrip it's different).

I had and '03 cobra, and it should not take your car if it was stock. It's not until you open them up that they really get off...I wasn't impressed until I had the computer, pulley, intake and exhaust...then it was fast
But stock it was definatetly slower then my stage 1 evo.

EVO VS Cobra
I drive the Buschur EVO in Houston. I knew the Cobra being super charged is a ***** from a roll, but the only pull he really got on me was he jumped first. I started pullin him in 4th, but it is getting too fast by then. I give up a lot by not launching. Buschur did a killer job on the car. I dare say not too much in the 2.0 L class will run with it. We are at a point where cubic inches do matter. In the end they can out mod us. Still the EVO is a beast in it's own right. I redline in first pretty quick when I launch because she spins the **** out of the tires! We have a new 1/8 track in Houston and it is made for the EVO.
