2005 Vw Gti
The front looks okay, I really start to like it from some angles, but hate it from others. The rear looks a little...silly...to me. The side profile and some of the rear looks remind me of the current Civic Si hatchback, and that's not a good thing
(the Si looks like an egg on wheels)
If chips come out for the 2.0T that do for it what the current chips do for the 1.8T, then that car is gonna be nuts. VW reliability, or lack thereof, would stop me from ever considering one, though.

actually, there are a lot of cars overseas that "look like the civic si". its the style over there. the ford ka (and focus), a few models from opel and citroen... personally i like it, and with any luck it will provoke honda to give us the "real" si. (top gear sure sung its praises).

the new golfs look crappy stock...but they can look so amazing with some wheels and a bodykit...as for the 05 gti...its ok...the motor more than makes up for the looks...these motors are bulletproof and im assuming that VW has turned their act around considering the negative feedback they have received over the last few years...however i would never base my automobile purchase on what JD Power says...
VW fixed all of their problems in the 03 and 04 models...i had an 03 Jetta GLS 1.8t for 2 years (20k miles) and never had one problem with it...had 15k chipped miles running 21-22psi on the stock turbo and stock clutch...never one problem...never got the car serviced once...changed the oil myself and installed my mods myself and that was all of the wrechwork my car ever saw...
problems are to be expected with new cars...every manufacturer has defects in their cars...evos have been known to have inconsistent trannies...and lots of people have had problems with mits warranty claims and dealers in general...doesnt mean the evo is a bad car...same can be said for VW...i havent heard of one person having any problems with an 04-05 1.8t motor or car...the 05-06 golfs should be no different IMO

and the interior owns about every car in its price range
