In pix I thought the thing was butt ugly, but I saw TWO today on the road (in Jax FL), one black and one green... very sexy. I'd consider it if I was in the market. Reliability would indeed be an issue, for I've heard many a story of Driver Returning On Foot (DROF)

Lucky you

Maybe I'm just unlucky enough to read those negative posts

But back on topic, the 05 mustang looks pretty nice!

Or, you could own both.

Reliability? You're kidding, right? This is a Mitsubishi board.... I had a supercharged 99 Mustang GT with over 400 HP and the only thing I replaced was the clutch (twice) which isn't surprising considering how many burnouts I did at the track. I can't recall ever having to take it in for any warranty work of any kind.

As for handling: How do people know it handles like ****? Driven one? Let's not forget it's a new platform and the handling has been improved. Good as an Evo improved? Not quite .

If you want raw power then the new Corvette C6 seems like a much better option though, especially considering the new Mustang is close to $30K with all the bells and whistles.

If you like rwd coupes w/gobbs of tourque at the press of a throttle and the sound of ground pounding v8's then a mustang is something you should test drive. If you get hooked I recomend waiting for the Cobra or thier concept GTR. If ford decides on dropping a motor similar to the 03 cobras in the new 05's im sure that would be a blast to drive!

I would do it only if it was a 67' fastback. I know it never will handle like any of the newer cars but thats beside the point.

If you like it, do it. It probably won't be too fun to drive in the winter though, especially since you're in Colorado... It's a bit slower than the Evo, despite the higher HP #s. I'll say that whenever the new "Cobra" comes out, it's gonna be sick, but it ain't gonna be near $30K

Nothing wrong with Fords at all. I sold them for 3 years and out of 240 vehicles I sold I had problems with three. 1 Focus bad ECU, Explorer cracked block, and Expedition bad window laminate. The new Mustang is pretty hot and I plan on getting one maybe next year.
