05 mustang
Just take a trip over to Jack Roush. My friend has a Roush Stage 3 mustang and that could handle better than most of the cars that i have ridden in. Not to mention the 375 Hp. And it WILL beat the evo in a straight line i will gaurentee that one.
I took one out as soon as they hit the local dealer, and wrote a mini-review on it. It's much better than the outgoing model, but I still had complaints. Of course... I find plenty wrong with every car. I'll dig it up and post it.
----------
The interior, while LEAGUES ahead of the previous Mustang, still has a lot of cheap plastic. And the color-change gauges... how much did this add to the price? The styling isn't as great as you'd think in person. There's just massive, flat expanses of sheet metal with little to break it up. And what breaks it up are those knock-off plastic faux ducts. Tiny little 16-inch wheels too with big chunky (55-profile I believe) tires that really compromise handling and provide a mushy ride -- I'd switch those out immediately with more aggressive rubber. Lots more room for rear passengers though, and doesn't look like they'll be too uncomfortable back there.
Tons of power? Yes, the 4.6L has plenty of *****. Wouldn't be hard to smoke em. And the shifter is finally in a nice good position, and its pretty crisp. You can whip it around harder on the DEW98 platform, but seriously, a Lincoln LS outcorners this -- even the LS before the suspension revision.
I personally would be waiting for the Cobra. Big steps in a lot of areas, but compromises to cut costs dampen it as usual.

yep, but they won't be in the under $30k price range with the Charger.
i drove a 03 cobra before i bought my evo, pretty simple you see which one i bought.... cobra is fast but umcomfortable for me being 6'2 250 pounds, also clutch was like a 50 pound weight to push in = / very nice fast car though!
If you want big V8 power, go with the 2005 GTO. May not look as good as the Mustang on the outside, but it is much better on the inside. Plus for 2005 it has the C6 motor with all 400 hp. Of course if you wanted to spend that much and you want all out performance, get an EVO.
