Banned at www.350zmotoring.com

It's an interesting question why I was banned (several times) at 350zmotoring. It think it's because administrator "flynnibus" is an idiot, but that's a self-serving statement. I like to have fun on the internet, with 4 or 5 different alter-egos there, and together with a few other friends, ragged on the 15-year-old pimple-popping geeks there who can't even drive, much less own a 350Z.

Anyway, my humor was not appreciated. So what? I don't even own a Z anymore. Of course I will be the model of decorum here. LMFAO

Huh ... funny my friend just traded in his 11.9 sec. Evo for a 14 sec. 350Z touring.

He told me he didn't like how the Evo looked compared to the Z.

I ran a 13.82 @100MPH on 91 octane when I was stock. I added a K & N drop in filter, 3" cat-back exhaust, and boost controller and later ran a 13.38 @ 104 MPH still on 91 octane. So the 12's are almost there.

you guys are crazy if you think the evo isnt a looker. I think the 350z looks bloated. While, not bad, id take a g35 over the 350z, look wise. If you want to go even further...the 350z is a shame to the 300zx heritage. My 2 cents.

id say about 1500 bucks to get into 12s.

Do your turbo back with test pipe on race gas and an mbc (maybe even a flash or a tune) and you should see 12s.

I could never get into the looks of the 350Z, it comes off as over done. That said the G35 with the zero lift package is a great looking car. (In other words I agree 100% with your opinion.)

On the other hand friends keep pointing out to me that the R&T long term car had transmission problems that Nissan counldn't explain. In addition owners wrote into R&T and offered that their cars had similar drive train problems. I once had a car with a well known weak transmission. Never again....

I too like the G35 design BUT it's everywhere...

The 350Z looks a little like a frog pooping....sorry...but I still think it's a very cool car!

I also test drove several cars befor buying the EVO, one of them being a 350. I chose the EVO for the:

- 4 door, space
- all wheel drive
- styling
- handling
- fun factor

My best friend owns a 350z, and we both show our cars next to each other. Both of us have noticed that I get 10 times the number of people looking at my car. Also I think that the EVO is treated more of an exotic than other cars(this may be my area). I drive weeks without seeing an EVO and not more than 10 minutes without seeing a 350.

Drive the car my friend drives mine all the time. He says it handles better, is faster and always says it's so nice to see out of the car (he's 6' 2"). If you have raced an EVO and beaten it with a stock 350 then I have to say that the person driving the EVO does not know how to drive. I have never come up against either a 350 or G35 on the track and lost. I have driven the 350 down the track against my my friend when he is driving my EVO and lost.

Though the 350 is a great looking car the performance capabilities of the car are not even in the same class. I belive that I have a very good view on this as I also have a friend who is an ASE cerified master mechanic. He is a senior tech at Harbor Nissan here and they do all the work on my car (due to the local Mitsu dealer being totaly inept). He loves my car as do all of the other mechanics. They always tell me it is more fun to drive. These guys are very experienced with your car. They have been selling new 350's with Vortech Blowers and also just recently installed the Greddy twin turbo kit on my friends new 350.

Im not saying that the car can't be made fast, but look at the cost of modding a 350 and an EVO, and drive the EVO I think the car will sell itself.

Better built, not totally true. The 350Z hasn't been around all that long, and the problems are just starting to come in. The EVO I believe is a well built car, you know exactly what you are getting yourself into when you buy one. If you bought it for it's quite and smooth ride, luxurious interior, and strong durable clutch, then shame on you or anybody else that stupid. If you bought it for it's awesome performance, then I could only imagine the smiles from ear to ear you guys have every time you turn that ignition (hint I drive a Sentra ). Other than the issues that are already known, the EVO has proven strong and reliable enough, and praise has to be given for a 2.0L Turbo 4 that can handle more than 450WHP on stock internals. Besides in your sig, I see you ran a 12.1@114MPH, your just another visit to the drag strip or at most one more mod from 11s, and I bet you it didn't cost you an arm and leg to achieve this. The same cannot be said of the 350Z, cuz even after spending an arm and a leg, a 350Z would still be hard pressed to beat your time. And they say the EVO isn't a drag car , so it get's worst from there for the 350Z.
