Well, just looking at both boards, and not owning either cars... there are more mature evo owners here than srtforums. That's not an assumption, that's a fact. Also the fact ive seen many srt4 owners around my city and they all look like they havent hit puberty. All the evo owners Ive seen are older, have houses and families, execpt there is one kid around here who is 18 with a silver evo. Also the fact, srt4 owners think they are gods gift to racing, I mean, its a FWD turbo, nothing more special than a turbo si, turbo rsx, turbo ralliart or turbo specV, but these cars will run circles around it, period.

Evo77 you are a respectable srt4 owner, but how many of you exist? Its really bad when a whole forum or board can make a great car, get mocked all over the net. Srt4 owner claim respect, how? turbo FWD? That's nothing new or ground breaking, people have been doing it for years. What would have been ground breaking, if it could handle like an evo for 20k, gotta remember, do you drive straight to your house? Eventually there is a turn awaiting.

I beg to differ. There are MANY more respectable srt owners on our forum that you just don't see. Many of which are in their 40's and up. If you hang around war stories, forget about it. That is the bottom of the barrel and to be honest NOTHING in that forum should be taken seriously. It is now used as a means of enterainment and is mostly for "shiats and giggles". I wouldn't expect most of you to know this unless you hang around the boards 24-7.

Yes there a some immature members but don't ALL forums have them? And sure there are a lot of young srt owners (mainly because of the obtainable price tag) but there are also a lot of older as well. Most are die hard turbo Dodge guys from back in the day or Mopar guys.

I used to think there were more mature people on this forum than on the SRT forums....but all you have to do is read through the 3 active SRT threads right now that are here and in OT and you'll see that's not really the case.

Re:

For a basic low price the SRT is a very capable performer, mainly straightline<. There's a bunch of them out there running Mid 11s, that's VERY respectable by any muscle standards. I'm sure those times were on slicks or drag radials, but still a stout piece that can **** off many todays autos of much more prestigeous notoriety.

why would that make a difference? if it's about srt4s it's about srt4s... regardless, the kids will look for ways of proclaiming that their car is better than anything else on earth....

you don't know how many "I killed a Ferrari" threads i've seen created by someone who OWNES a srt4...

Had the Evo8 been out a year or two before the srt was released your statement might have relevance but the fact is they came out at the same time. Around Jan/Feb 03.

Plus, the srt concept dates back to November 1999 where it was shown at the SEMA show. Back then it was supercharged with 208hp.

Yeah, it was made to be a evo wannabe...

Neon uses MANY Mitsu parts and engineering, it is simply the progression of the DSM's and of course the Starion. Mistu started the Turbo game. Dodge simply jumped aboard.

Please list out all the parts on the SRT-4 that are Mitsu besides the turbo and manifold.

Oh you mean the MOST important parts? The heart of the operation? The parts that add power? It is a simple progression of the DSM's. Man you are so quick to defend your precious Neon. Its a great car but the body/Frame is prehistoric compaired to the Evo's. Same old Head gasket problems, horrible weight distribution, and very traction limited. Remember Mistu gives parts/engineering to Dodge and has been for MANY years.

You can't argue with History, no Mitsu=No Neon SRT-4, this is a fact. Look @ ANY turbo Dodge and you will see Mistu Engineering behind it. You may as well pick up your History book and argue with that. This is why people see the Neon as the wana be and it is. Nothing wrong with it, I would like one as a Daily driver, easy to mod too. But its nothing special.

It will never handle as well as an Evo, its not as solid, its suspension is very soft, and your simply asking the front wheels to do too much. Its just cheaper and thats all well and good but by NO means an original Vehicle, its all Mitsu influence baby, you can't possably argue that, you just can't, sorry.
