Evo vs. RX-8 in the twisties?
Assuming both cars are stock with equal drivers behind the wheeel, which car handles the corners better?
One of my co-workers has an RX-8. When I told him I'm selling the SRT-4 for an Evo RS he said, "I'll still get you in the corners mate. You need to find a RWD car if you're looking for a good balance of power and handling." I know the RX-8 handles very well, but so does the Evo. How do they stack up against each other?

To me the RX-8 is a disappointment. I was hoping for so much more. Back to the topic, yes the evo will win. I raced one RX-8 and killed it

I might have some insight into this comparison.
1. Evo has better tires. The RX8 6 speed comes with 225/45/18 and they are hard tires to help the RX8 with it's very bad gas mileage and are not sticky tires at all, even when quite warm. The AO46s are fantastic tires and once you compare them to the tires on the RX8, you'll see for yourself just how good the Advans really are. Winner = Evo.
2. RX8 has better weight distribution (50/50), but the rear end can slide out in a heartbeat. The Evo feels more front heavy, but it is more forgiving (I think) and easier to put the gas down on corners without fear of the *** end coming out unexpectedly. Winner = Evo.
3. Evo has 4 tires working to get grip. Winner = Evo.
In the end, it all comes down to driver so if the RX8 driver is better than you are, he can beat you. You can mod the hell out of your Evo, but without a driver that knows how to handle the car, all that effort and money are wasted.
