it looked like the driver didn't straighten out the wheel as the rear caught grip and the car was pointed toward the corner exit. he prolly just applied full lock and held it there. if he also lifted, that gave rear tires more lateral traction since the accelerating traction was no longer taken up, that helped to flick the car the other way. that's how i change directions of drift when playing rally games (haven't done that in real life just yet).
