It is not going to have a IRS, they are putting on a beefier solid axle found on the GT. The elise is an autocross car, the mustang is a drag car.

Pick your posion, ironically 80% of evo owners drag there car and do little to no autocrossing in it. Most sponsers on this forum sell upgrades to make the car faster in a straight line, not turn faster in a straight line so that it handles like garbage stuff can go in the trash.

The hardest turn the majority of you all take is that U turn going onto the freeway. Some of you make it sound like the thing will flip over if it goes over 20mph in a U turn.

ugly as hell....and you forgot the rest of the specs:

solid rear axle, 6000 lbs, handles like a sherman tank, typical Ford quality which is complete ****.....I'm sure there's more but I'm about to eat and don't wanna think about Rustangs any more.

If you want a dragster, it is time to sell the Evo.

Yes, I did, and the link doesn't work for me. But, if Ford is selling it for $35K instead of $45K, then that makes me want it even more.

So I was looking at the press release and apparently I was *gasp* wrong!!

Philisophico: you were right about the solid rear.

Oh well, I still want one. And if the price is going to be around $35K, I'll wait a year and buy one used for sure.

I'd smoke the tires of that thing! hell yea

Ford only started using forced induction in the last 6-7 years. I think it looks very mean, and want to see it in black. Probably weighs a good amount, but still runs high 12s.

Hmm what would you guys take, a new vette or this cobra?

Supposed to weigh around 3600 lbs. (though in light of me being wrong that info may be sketchy). With the previous Cobra running mid 12s at 3600 lbs, this could be anywhere from mid 12s (with those ****ty tires) to low 11s with better tires (solid rear = hard launch with DRs).

The new Z06 will still be a better car overall, and it will take some work for the Mustang to take it down. The Z06 should weigh around 3100 lbs., maybe 3200. With 500hp, it will take a few bucks for the Mustang to whip it.

The good news is the if Ford under-rates the engine as they did with the previous Cobra, we should see 450hp to the wheels, and 600hp to the wheels should be an intake, exhuast, pulley, and tune away.

The new Z06 will be north of $60,000 too. The Cobra will be a better starting point if you're looking for a drag car.

This will be the penultimate drag car. It's awesome. I still like the Evo better (I don't plan on dragging when I get mine), but if you want one hell of a drag car, this thing is awesome. I can definitely see people doing crazy stuff in/with this car.
