This is my new dream car. A car a tad over 1000 lbs and 300 hp. To put it in perspective:

Atom: 1005 # / 300 hp = 3.35 # /hp (less is better)
EVO: 3260 # / 271 hp = 12.03 #/hp
Enzo: 3020 # / 660 hp = 4.58 #/hp

And here's the kicker...in the UK these go for around $36k (US)

Don't ask me how some lucky bastard got one of these in Washington. I'm just as curious. I've heard everything from a "kit car" license to "some states these are legal".

 

Vtec + Turbo + Proper tuning = Fast

 

Has to be a Kit Car title or some how it's under US specs

 

My Integra Type-R weighed only 2200 and made 500whp, it ran 130mph traps. It was insane fast but no traction without slicks. I originally was spraying it w/ a 70shot and only had header, exhaust, and intake and ran 13.2 at 106 on the stock tires. So yes, to answer your question, it is power to weight that makes them fast. Get them from the dig and even the best Hondas will wimper in disgust as you pull away.

 

the best part about doing the whole honda engine swap thing is that overall its cheap if you really dont care how your car looks, this kid in my auto shop has a 93 civic coupe with with a gen1 B16 dropped and its scary as hell to think its fast because you can still literally STAND in the engine bay because there is so much room, but he only paid like 13k for EVERYTHING

a honda + turbo won't run much fast if any fast than turbo lancer correct? unless again we are talking Si or engine dropped.. people are always saying lancers are slow but if a lancer is slow so is a honda. people always refer to a honda like it is fast.

 

Yeah it's a kit car. I found out that the owner had Ariel ship the car over in two pieces: the rolling chasis and the engine. The contingency is that the engine must be purchased from someone other than Ariel.

 

DOHC VTEC>SOHC MIVEC. Plus they weigh ALOT less.


I would love a NA hatch putting down 250WHP, fun.
