what cheep daily driver??
what cheep daily driver??
Here is the story, I’m selling the Evo and am going to be buying a new daily driver. I just need something cheaper. So here are the three cars I’m looking at with what I believe are the pros and cons.
05-06 Chevy Cobalt (Coupe) – $17,000
Pro- not seen everywhere, good looking, Hp: 140ish
Con- Domestic reliability, average gas mileage
05-06 Honda Civic (Coupe) - $17,000
Pro- Great gas mileage, reliability, cheep parts
Con- everyone and their mom drives one, lowest Hp
06 Mitsubishi Eclipse (GS) - $19,000ish
Pro- Keeping the Mitsu brand, highest Hp: 160, best looking (IMO)
Con- More Expensive, Mitsu reliability, lowest gas mileage
The prices are a mix between estimates and “build your own results” and the cars are very well equipped….reasons for the high civic price.
Well those are the three choices I’m looking at, I know I could get a used WRX or an Srt-4 for a similar price, but I don’t want the mileage and the upkeep. Any other opinions would be great as well, thanks.

Get a Used Gti like 00 01 spend like 7Grand for it and its gets go style, gas mileage, and is reliable! and it has good HP numbers. Spend like 500 more and get 200+HP with everything else stock with just a chip

I like the hybrid Idea, but in my area there hard to find under 20,000. Dealer mark ups cause everyone wants one. As far as used....the warrenty was a big plus, and I may not be right but I dont think alot of used cars keep their warrenty.
Im kinda suprised that there hasnt been any votes for the cobalt....ehh, I cant stand honda but im leaning to the civic.

If the Cobalt is anything like the Redline it is a nice whip. I test drove a Redline a while ago. Dont like the whole center dash thing but a nicely built car.
I just bought a 2000 Beetle TDi for a daily driver...... 48.194 miles per gallon on the last tank......paid $8500 for it used (from a nice older lady)
