Ducati S2R

I always thought I'd never get a bike, but after looking at this one at the local dealership I can't get it outta my head:

http://www.ducati.com/bikes/my2005/d...elName=MS2R-05

I don't wan't an all out crotch rocket, just something to tour around with on nice days. My other choice was a Suzuki SV650, but after seeing the Ducati, wow....

Any fellow Evo owners with Ducati experience/feedback?

I've owned a newest gen SV650S and they are fantastic bikes....great on the street and for the occasional track day plus you get Japanese quality. As for the Duc, it's gonna be nearly $3k more than what you can pick up a new SV for (I got mine for $5400 brand new) and plus the people I know with Ducs have them in the shop more than they do on the street.....they are constant maintenance.

I have yet to read a bad review of an SV650, plus it's about $1200 cheaper than the Ducati. Man. I'm gonna have to think on this...

I wanna Monster so friggin bad! I seen one in a movie a few weeks ago and now I want one. Just, a Dark 620. Somone I know is selling a 900 for only $3,000 with all kinds of c/f accesories, but my girl won't let me. Guess I have to stick with my 4 wheeler.

its funny that this came up because i am going to be picking up a S2R Dark probably by the end of august. I love that friggen bike

it is the perfect compromise between a cruser and a crotch rocket.

it's such a badass bike.

Let me know how it is when you pick it up!

MY GF will kill me too if I were to purchase one soon, I just bought a house in May. I can't stop thinking about the Ducati though...

expensive and unreliable. The best bet is a suzuki or yamaha. Trust me you'll save a lot more on maintanance costs. The other thing you need to take in factor is how many ducati dealer are there for maintanance, especially if your going cross country.

I used to work in the same building as one of the Ducati NA offices (not the main office, which I think is in Cali). It was 2 dudes in a couple small rooms with a Ducati poster. The two guys were very nice though, and occasionally brought bikes by. Some hot lookin' rides, I must say.

I think I would rather have one of the sporttouring models.

the 77 hp of the monster just doesn't push it IMO.
