pic of the gto rear seats:
I guess riding ***** would suck.
Anyways, I test drove a automatic 2005 gto and damnit that is the fastest automatic car I have driven, it scared the **** out of me when it downshifted. I would definatly get one but I like 4 doors, and the steering feel/braking of the evo better.

I still don't think that could be true. But I will have to see it for me to believe it. The 03 M45 is pretty fast from a dead stop and from a roll. I know I own both the 05 Evo and the 03 M45

Stock 2003 M45 0-60 = 6.1 seconds. Its pretty good for a 3800lbs car, but not going to run circles around a rs...

The fastest time I could find for a stock 2005 GTO was 13.3 and there was also a stock one that ran 12.8 with drag radials. This info was found on dragtimes.com, a database of real peoples 1/4 mile times and timeslips.

I don't know how close the GTO you get is to the HSV GTO we get here in Australia (6L V8, 297kw, I know it is the same basic car but there might be differences?) but in the last test on it I saw here it did a 14sec 1/4 with a fairly decent race driver driving it.
I also have a test with the detuned Evo VIII that we got (I think like the original VIIIs that you guys had) and the HSV Clubsport (same basics as the GTO except 4 door and I can't remember if it was the 5.7L with about 280kW or the 6L with 297kW). They couldn't get the timing gear for the test so they ran the cars from a slow roll (they said to take out the AWD advantage) up to about 100mph or maybe a bit more and they said that the EVO and Clubsport were rubbing door handles at the finish or something. So a close race.

FYI, from a roll, its mostly power/weight ratio (yah torque curve, gearing and things like that come into play also). So if you know p/w ratios...you can guess how your car will do on a roll.
