drove the new 911 back to back with evo

so today i was able to drive the new 911 S, and damn is that an amazing car. the transmission is borderline telapathic, the clutch is high but light effort, and it handles awesome. but i wil tell you that while the power delivery is more linear than the evo, it does not pull that much harder, i think the evo can definately keep up. i had it up to about 90, and this is where it would start to pull away. it has more pull up top, but thats nothing a few grand in mods couldnt fix. o and the adaptive sport seats option is sweet, they actually inflate with high cornering loadds or something wild like that. just thought youd all be interested in know that. ill be able to tell you even more of a comparison when my mom's is delivered in a few months

sport compact car magazine did a write up a couple months ago comparing a carrera 4s, M3, S4, and an EVO and the EVO kept up with all of them. they had a vishnu stage 1 evo for comparison in the end and it kicked the crap out of all of them. Good article, the people at SCC magazine love the EVO and are always praising its glory!

Allelujia...or however you spell it! Just another case where the Evo can keep up with the big boys.

I don't like Porsches at all. If i was gonna spend some money on a car it would probably be a Ferrari or a Lambo. But I would rather just have a couple of EVOs (a stock one, a modded one fro the street and a track one to kill Porsches,Lambos & Ferrari's)

Nice write up. The 911 has always been one of my favorite cars and I really do like the new styling of the Porsches, especially on the new Boxster S.

That wasn't a couple of months ago... it was a couple of YEARS ago That article is the final reason I bought the Evo over the STi, and I bought it in 2003!!!

There really two totally different cars. The optioned full leather interior of a 911 is totally gorgeous. You can drive 10mph or 150mph and the simply performs. A EVO can keep up and easily spank a 911 even a 911 Turbo, so what!!

It's just like the NSX owners feel about there cars. It's about rarity, style, inputs not just straightline speed or ultimate handling. They have quite a few NSX owners that are EVO owners too and they give some fair write ups. Most will say the EVO in stock form is right there with a NSX and modded they can be better, but they also say which set of car keys they grab for a sunny day. The Porsche is no different. They even have a few write ups on the P forums too, but they are mostly negative talking about the economy family sedan interior of the EVO and ugly boxy looks compared to the P car. Go do a search the write ups are pretty good on Nsxprime.com for the most part, but they also show the glaring differences in quality, looks, and style of the different cars too.
