The STi weighs more.....8 pounds only!

Given all the stuff they added (compared to the EVO), I expected I little bit more...
so I guess Subaru did their homework right...

But I still like the EVO....(I guess that makes me a Fan right??)

i personally thought it would weigh a significant amount more due to the fact they upped the engine to a 2.5l ?? Or maybe im stupid?

I was expecting the same thing....

But the thing is that the EJ25 is lighter than the EJ20 that's under the hood on the JDM cars....

I really don't know how they accomplished it...but they did it!

so we have similar hp and tq numbers and similar weights??? wow that has never happened before .. ... I really thought one car would be outrageously different than the other given their histories!

subie had to confrom to the same safety regulations and what not that mitsu did ... this is anything but a suprise

EDIT: had to add the tongue smiley so I didn't look like a complete jackass

The 2.5 can be lighter because of the composite intake manifold. The block itself is still based off the same EJ series block. So exterior dimensions are the same between the 2.0 and 2.5.

I guess you're right theaphextwin84...

But I expected the weight on the STi to increase somewhat due to the fact that the car was more "loaded" than the EVO. Examples being DCCD, 6-Spd, 2.5L....

I know differences like that only account to a couple of pounds only. But I wasn't expecting the weight offset to be only 8 lbs.

I was being sarcastic. Everyone was saying it was going to be 200 lbs lighter than the EVO. I expected it to be right at the same weight.

I think everyone been saying STi is going to weight 200lbs more, not the other way around.
