On the contrary.. i've had my viper over 200 ... and i shifted into 6th with i hit it. It was surpisingly stable...

There's a great video floating around of a crazy black viper racing some bikes down in Mexico. Boosted Hayabusa's I think... Those high HP vipers are badass. Still, I'd take the Bugatti and sell to buy 10 vipers

I would put my money on the Viper. Remember guys, the Veyron can only hit its top speed in a "Special" top speed mode. You can only turn that mode on when the car is stopped, and its automatically disabled once you press the brake. =/ The Viper has no such limitation, furthermore the Viper is lighter, and being RWD opposed to AWD it has less drivetrain loss.

r u sure it was the VENOM1000 not simply a TT Viper? I read abotu the shootout and it seems that the Viper was a TT Viper, but NOT the Venom1000 which puts out 1000+hp whereas the Viper in the competition was a 800+hp Viper

Id take the bugatti if price was no concern since it will turn more heads and may hold its value better long term although the venom1000 is a rare car also.

seems like 90% of u guys miss the point of the thread. I'm not saying "which would u take". im saying compare them, not which holds better value, which is more praised, which is this or that. Compare them as supercars period. Performance.

Bugatti AWD probably corners better than the viper. but the viper probably does the straight line faster. Typical domestic vs. import comparison. just a little high in the price range.

i dont think i would call the viper a supercar, ever thought it does have 1000+ hp. If it cant handle the turns, its not worth it to me. i wouldnt personally know how the viper handles, as i have never driven one, but i cant imagine it would best the veyron.

Superb Handling — In contrast to a sports car which simply has a more 'sporty' or involving handling than a normal hatchback or saloon, a supercar is usually built for maximum cornering and road gripping ability in order to achieve superior racing times.

To me, the viper doesnt fall into that category for a supercar

i highly doubt the venom has been aero-proven at its theoretical top speed. drag/lift effects increase exponentially with speed, so there's a huge difference between a car's handling at 200 mph and at 250 mph.

in contrast, the bugatti designers spent thousands of hours in the wind tunnel designing the veyron from the ground up to reach 250mph. those weird curves are no accident, not to mention the speed-variable wing, ride height control, airbrake, etc. i guarantee the veyron is MUCH safer above 200 mph than the viper.

For comparison the Venom 850 TT does a 1/4 mile in 10 sec flat, the Veyron does in 10.8 @ 140mph with AWD so the Venom 1000 would tear it apart at acceleration.
