Hey congratulations on the STI. When I was shopping for my new car it was between the 06 STI or the MR and I ended up choosing the MR, but a couple things I liked better with the STI is the whole front dash area, it does feel nicer inside, you can change from front wheel drive to all wheel drive whenever, and it does drive nicer, but I just couldn't stand the blue interior and the front end. The aggressive looking front end on the evo and the pep and interior (from the dash back) on the MR just got me. My boyfriend might be picking a black STI up though so we'll be able to trade back and forth, so it ended up being a win win situation . Congrats again on your purchase!

no you can't. torque distribution does NOT change with DCCD settings, only the timing of center diff lock. just like the evo really.

Even for a salesman, that's pretty retarded. I mean, if Subarus are known for one thing it's FULL TIME AWD!! I would have kicked him in the shins if he said that to me.

The front end has grown on me a bit, but those tail lights still look hideous

Sorry for this newb question: does the USDM '06 STi carries the same DCCD revisions as the JDM models? IIRC:

1. F/R torque split is 51:49
2. Some yaw sensor/control is added
3. Some other improvement I can't remember now

BTW I forgot to say: nice car I like the new look to be honest, best ever in my books.

Previous-gen DCCD has taken a lot of flak from my friends who track the car. Let us know if what you think of this latest-gen DCCD.

its funny how evo owners are saying alteezas for the sti when the evo has alteeza's itself. Dont tell me those aren't alteeza's and the ones on the older 03/04/05 evos look cheap. the 9 looks decent since they put some black into it but still ugly. The 7 lights are the best, jdm MR's tails are cool.

Anyways i still dont understand why people are defending the evo's interior, its cheap and simple, to make it functional with no nice layout in mind. The sti's is more refined, yes they are made of plastic too, but the design and feel is alot nicer. Look at a 95 civic's dash and youll see the evo's dash, just plain and simple. and cheap. Only thing the evo gots going are the seats.

Btw nice car.

and here is a link to a 95 civic's dash

i ride in a 94 civic everyday so i know whats its like.

I almost bought one like yours, same color, same year. I think the front looks much better than the '05, I just don't like the new tail lights and the wing is waaaay too big. Nice car anyway, I love the way it sounds and the interior looks very upscale.
Congratulations and good luck!
