Are you more intrigued by the concept Camaro or Challenger?
Im very impressed with both. Really I like how they are using strong cues from the older vehicles instead of totally trying to reinvent the shape (the 80's and 90's).
With all the new drivetrain packages available, it'd be good to see the Camaro and Challenger come in about 800-1000 lbs lighter than cars like the Charger and GTO. Heavy as they are they make brutal engine packages such as the SRT-8 motors and LS2's and LS7 motors lukewarm in anything but the Vette.
Being a Chevy/Mitsu guy, I can tell you that Id take the Challenger for something different. I drove a Charger SRT-8 and it was a blast! Held back by 20" wheels and a heavy curb weight, it'd be nice to see performance in mind with little compromise.

Challenger all the way. Way less mainstream in the past and hasn't been around in a long time. Plus it look pretty bad a**. Camaro isn't bad, but does look similar to a caddy in the front.

WHAT!?!?
Are you telling me that you wouldn't want a Ford GT?
What if Mercedes did a new SL gullwing?
What if Ferrari did a new F40?
What if Mazda copied the third gen RX7?
etc.. etc..
Pictures I took at the Detroit NAIAS...
oh, and btw, there was no engine in the Challenger at the autoshow.. I know one of the engineers who helped design it and bring it into the show.

wasn't there a reason they stopped making camaro's in the first place? so why bring it back after a few years! is it because of the new RETRO 'stangs. i like seeing the older cars that's been missing for a while coming back but not cars that just recently stopped production. what about all those people who overpaid for the "LAST CAMAROS" and that last one that went to the musem, HAHA. if they bring this back you know the trans am is coming back, and UH-OH CELICA MAKING a COMe BACK?

The old camaro's were pretty good cars.
Look at the collapsing sports car market in the USA throughout the 90's and you'll see that they actually held on longer than the 300ZX, RX7, and Supra. The market WAS finally coming back at the time that they got cancelled, but there were too many new models stealing buzz (i.e. 350Z, RX8, and even the Corvette)
The gap in production for the Camaro is really only slightly shorter than it was for those two models, and this is a chance for GM to come back with a slightly lighter and smaller (and perhaps even cheaper) version. Bottom line, if GM gives us 300 HP for 25,000 dollars then what is there to complain about?
The old camaro's weren't really that great at all.. my mom has a 2002. The suspension and steering is horrible.. so is the quality of the interior with all the rattles and stuff. The thing only has 26,000 miles on it and is in mint condition, but it already feels like it has 120,000 miles on it.
The new camaro hopefully will be much better.

See, when I say good I'm comparing it to my eclipse which had the timing slip and blew out the heads, then after repair the balance shaft siezed and I had to replace the entire motor, then after motor replacement the ECU went to hell.
I babied it, never made any mods, and it didn't even get past the 80,000 mile mark. Recently I found out that the last two are well documented reliability issues. WTF?!?
SBC on the other hand = rock solid.
