I think aerodynamics would be the most limiting factor for evo. It is the flying brick compared to corvette or other super cars. the drag and high speed is huge for our cars.

The Vette is a fast Car. Def mid 12's, the 400 hp. A stock evo would have no chance against against a c6 on the track or highway unless the vette driver suxs. Now lets say IX with a tbe, mbc, drop in filter, and a flash will yield at least 330 to the wheels. The Evo with a decent driver will run at LEAST mid 12s but low 12s is expected. On a roll, the evo with a good driver will smoke the C6. But on a highway roll, id say it would be pretty even.

330 whp with those mods?.... Perhaps, but it seems a little unrealistic. Maybe 300 whp is more like it. Anyway, As I said, the EVO would have to have more power than the Vette just to overcome the drivetrain losses, and as other have said too, the aerodynamics of the Vette are clearly superior to the "brick" shape of the EVO.

I have the greatest respect and admiration for all the guys who are running in the 12's with their EVOs. Particularly if they have relatively minor modifications. I know that when I was running my '03 EVO with cams, AEM EMS and a whole lot of other stuff, it only put down 260 whp and I managed a 13 flat 1/4 mile run. Sure, I'm not the best driver, but to be fair, other EVOs ran in the 13's and some in the 14's... Of course, the newer EVOs are faster and the driver makes a huge difference. Still, 13 seconds or less is very fast....

It's right about 7,400 RPMs. I was at 156 mph or so, doing red line (7K). Highway allowing, I could have gotten to about 165; the EVO is not speed governor limited, just rev-limiter limited. Unless you extend the 7,400 rpm mark, you ain't going any faster.

I've taken a Pontiac GTO goat on the highway - it was the 400 hp version, and chased down the same on the track and ran circles around him - C6 is def. faster than the goat - it'll be close IMO.

the c6's are no joke. i was driving the s2k on the highway one night, and this red c6 with royal black rims just started pacing me for about 15 minutes. my mom was in the passenger seat, also i did not want to waste any gas (cuz i know he will put 5 billion trains on my face plus i dont street race period), so i just gave him a thumbs up. he most likely had i/e/h, because he was revving the daylight out of his engine, and i kid u not, it sounded FREAKING BEAUTIFUL. we passed by a tunnel so the sound was more resonant (drool) so after i ignored his taunts he just took off. i'm telling u it looks like he launched his freaking car at 85 mph. it was absolutely insane how fast that ****'s pick up speed was. i know the s2k is different from the Evo, but in most cases the s2k is pretty even with the Evo from a roll stock vs stock.

after that night, the c6...i mean if a opened up c6 could do that already, i wonder how much faster the c6 z06 is....................goodness gracious...

the z06 is a monster, but the standard c6 is pretty quick too. I went up against one on the freeway from a 3rd gear roll on my 91 octane map and i pulled him 2+ cars up to 140 ish.

the official Vishnu_Evo8 has spoken. that c6 you ran was priviledged to be involved in a race with you jk jk, but seriously, you have a very sick Evo

I took a ride in my friends c6 the other day. All I can say is there was a lot of power but he couldn't keep the car straight. That thing was all over the road. I took him for a ride in my car afterwards (263whp buschur Dyno) and he thought my car felt faster? I think it was probabaly because It just went fast "straight" and not all over the road. I launched it once for him and he said he felt his face melting back out of 1st gear!

Just my 2 cents but I think I could take him in the 1/4 but from a roll, I think he would take me. He just couldn't get any traction in that thing. Nice car though.

i will say the evo can FEEL faster, i think its a combination of the boost kicking in and the suspension. after driving the evo all week the vette feels like a caddy with a recliner

I love the comment that made in a recent review saying that the evo IX actuallt felt faster then the new z06.. plus it put down the power out of the turns in a far superior fashion.. not that the z06 isnt a beast, but to bads it not really the total package.. and probably isnt nearly as fun as driving and evo on the street... I would run away from one on the highway though.
