The 2006 Mitsubishi Eclipse?




Im dead serious! Who or the team behind thd drawing of the new 4g eclipse? What is the proccess or the steps it take to go from paper to production? Who was the guy or girl to say "I love it, put it in production". Im not trying to offend mitsubishi or owners of the new eclipse but this is one of the most ugliest coupes EVER. If I was the head honcho, I would make the design team sleep perfection of the new eclipse, this is so ugly and so round, yuck. I would have never let this final production leave the drawing board.

How do you (mitsubishi) make a coupe more uglier than previous year? With such good looking coupes (civic si, rsx-s, s2000, g35, 350z, Audi TT etc.) out before the 4G, why not take styling queues from them? Why make it more heavier and heavier each year, why drop the turbo and go v6 with 263HP in a FWD shell? A shell that clocks in over 3400lbs!!! Why mitsu why? The car is just fat and big all over... all over. Now, the best part of the car (engine) and it can't be even seen. Still, this car give you the greatest 18mpg in the city and lets not forget, the tire burning rubber in a front heavy fwd.

Mitsu, you design team sucks, FIRE YOUR DESIGN TEAM!!! Lose the weight! Put this car on a diet, a serious jenny craig, atkins - subway one. Lose about 200lbs and man this could would fly with that 3.8L mivec v6.

yea the design part isn't too shabby...just the lack of awd and a turbo engine. but that's why we have the evo.

the only real problem i have is the price, it's close to 350z territory with the gt-v6 package. it's decently fast. 0-60 in the high 5's-low 6's...mid 14 second quarter.

 

It looks better in person, than in pictures. Although I admit the rear end kind of disturbs me, the tail lights are a little too much, and think it would look so much sexier with dual exhaust tips. Anyways it's still ok, especially in person, for some reason just not a great looking picture car. Hey Eclipse isn't so bad though, look at the Neon SRT-4's replacement, the Caliber SRT-4, damn if I was an SRT-4 fanatic I'd be kind of disappointed, that car is just damn ugly, and I have feeling they will sell no where near as much as they expect.

i agree, it is the ugliest mitsu ever. i hate the evo X also.

on a positive note(off subject) the chevy designers are getting the idea(new z06, cobalt isnt bad either) they got rid of the curves and made some nice lines on these cars. mitsu is going backwards.

 

Ok, it might be the ugliest...but I wouldn't go as far as to say it was the Most ugliest.

And it may be uglier than the previous coupes...but again, are you sure it's more uglier?

 

As far as the Eclipse goes, all I have to say is one of the ultimate chick cars just got even more feminine. RIP 1st and 2nd gens......

 

I like how they look, and i LOVE the ralliart concept. I think the 4th gen Eclipse is the 2nd best looking next to the 2nd gen.

 

I agree with the fact that the car has a weight problem, and don't forget the wheel base of a long bed diesel truck, but the worst part of the car as far as aesthetics go for me personally is that monster ghetto booty.

That's what happens when you base a sports coupe on a bloated sedan like the Galant. The Eclipse needs to have its own chassis and bring back the AWD turbo drivetrain.

They should just build the next eclipse off of the Evo platform

 

Haha what's funny is that my friends went to Starbucks, one had a 06 Eclipse, the other one 05 Evo. The one with the eclipse drove away with two of the girls.
