They used to race these against the V8 Ford Falcons,Holden Commodores and R32 GTRs at Bathurst in Australia... ****en mad brother, ****en mad. i love them. awesome !

they are cool cars for sure. this winter in maine I went to the "maines forest winter rally" and one of the guys had one he was racing. He hauled a$$. On the second pass he hit a rock and screwed up his whole front suspension and axle.. We talked to him in the pits. He was quite the bird. Heres a pic of it at the rally.

I remember Top Gear reviewing one back in the day when top gear was like a consumer guide car show rather than the 'Playtime for Jeremy Clarkson' show. I think it was Jeremy who was reviewing it, said that it had the best value of any car because it had it's own built in picnic table.
I also seem to remember that the escort cossies were built on the longer wheelbase sierra platform and not on the escort platform at all.
