I know this may be a repost, but I just want to know...Is anyonwe else having trouble wrapping their mind around the utterly destructive acceleration this Supra has? I love this video, but honestly, THAT speed from a rolling start THAT fast, I don't know, in my mind it does not add up. What are your thoughts?

Have you ever seen the ams evo street video? It pulled fast on a 450whp car. Similar to the supra vid. That supra easily has to have 500whp+.

Are you familiar with the power the 2jz engines are capable of? Even on the stock bottom end 6-700 hp isn't out of reach. the 2jz engines are notorious for being easy to make bolt on power and lots of it. Asking for 800 hp isn't a big deal from it. Problem is $$$ with those cars. But ya, Supras can absolutely be streetable and still dust people like that on the highway.

 

i've been in my friend's single turbo automatic mkiv. let's just say 60-120 in a blink of an eye with it losing traction. He's running a SP67 on 100octane.

i swear, his mph gauge looked like my evo's rpm tach.

and people were giving him crap for being an automatic... i snicker

check out http://www.to4r.com/to4r.php and see their dyno sheets. Supras with massive hp aren't that uncommon... unlike evos which are fairly new.

I think everyone knows Supra's can make ungodly amounts of power and be devastatingly quick. I've seen a couple of videos of Supra's absolutely raping Hayabusa's from a roll.

I would be willing to bet he was in the gas for longer than it seems he was to get that turbo spooling. You can hear the guy in the car that was filming commenting on the lag. Once that thing was spooled up it was a rocket though.
