Thanks for clearing that up ... I've always thought they were the same, since the engines were in the rear Doh!

So how about we concentrate on the original question?

The GT3 has PSM, but obviously lacks PTM (which is part of the AWD system).
i see...forgive my ignorance. maybe i confused it with the old GT3 RS. Hopefully the new RS will be as i described.

If I had a choice, I'd get the turbo.

Turbo all the way..
the torque of the NA is so low..
I have a 997 C4S and the torque is just too low..
it has 295 lb ft vs the GT3's 298..
it feels kinda slow compared to my evo and of course even slower compared to my dad's GT2..

The GT3 looks amazing, but performance wise, I think the turbo will be much much better..

Price aside, I'd prefer a GT2. Anyhow, I took these pictures of a GT3 at MidAmerica Motorplex. And, yes, the owner also had an EVO.

I'd spring for the turbo. What's an extra 20-25 Grand whe you're buying a car like that? Neither car is a bad choice. But the new GT3 is supposed to have a better ride quality than the previous GT.

As for me, I'd skip both of them an get an RS4. For 75k, it's loaded with everything, a glorious 420hp V8, Quattro, and it would probably make a nice everyday driver. The 911's and GT's have one of the most punishing rides on the market.

Why do you think you so many 7- 10 year old have Porches' 10, 15, 25k miles on them?People don't drive these cars every day and most of them are weekend toys for the owner. must be nice...................

This couldnt be further from the truth. Show up at any local autocross and 1/2 the cars there are Porsches. At least half. Usually more than half. 944s, 924s, 968s, Sharks, Carrera SCs, 930s, Boxsters, GT-3s, the list goes on and on. Few owners drive the living **** out of their cars like Porsche owners. And it doesnt just stop with the car. Talk to them and they work on their own cars as much as any group and seldom keep their car completely stock. They are always tinkering with them, adding roll cages or nose vents or Big Reds or Konis or anything else. Youl get a random a-hole like any brand, but for the most part they will talk cars with a Ford Fiesta drive all day. Hell, I have a 930 with more stupid money in it than I should admit, a 951, used to have a WRX, and I drive a POS 91 BMW 325IX with 135,000 miles on it every day I bought for $3,100 at Big Bob's Used Cars. The only reason I didnt pick up an Evo or STI when my WRX lease ran out was I wanted to save money. I think youll find most Porsche owners just general car nuts who love to talk shop on any car and are impressed with all kinds of cars.

Are there some who keep them parked? Sure, but its very few and far between. A ton of people drive their Porsche every day, everywhere they go. If you want to see where all the exotics are parked, go visit a Ferrari or Lambo owner. They wont even take their cars out in a 3mph crosswind! Porsches are built to be driven and most are not only driven, but flogged. You can flog a Ferrari, but it will break on the way home.

Yeah, the RS will probably be stripped of any sort of driver's aids, in addition to weighing another couple hundred pounds less.

tough, tough decision. From what I've read the quarter times are almost identical but the GT3 is a better tracker obviously. I dont think I could ever make the choice!!!
