An apple to orange comparison, but very interesting. Results are:

Cayman S Mitsubishi EVO MR
Price $70k $37k
0-60 4.8 4.6
0-100 11.4 12.4
60-0 112 ft 114 ft
Slalom 74.2 mph 70.7 mph
Skidpad .98g .89g

I have both and both have respectable numbers. AWD launch was always an advantage 0 to 60. Top end the Porsche will always rule.

Wow. For that price, I can buy a 911 turbo. The only mods I have / will have are:
Tubi Exhaust
Remove intake restrictor
H&R Springs
Intake Filter
ECU Flash

I'll pickup the Farnbacher Loles Cayman over any 996 turbo. 996 turbo will be fast as hell especially if you modified it but it doesn't have the feel and driving experience of a Cayman, MR layout. I have driven a 996 turbo and it's fast as hell but the feeling is a GT cruiser. Now the 997 TT may be different but I'll take the 997 GT3 over it. But then again I'll take a Cayman with a GT3 motor any time and any day. Mid engine rear drive horizontally oppossed pistons is the best, whether it's 4, 6,8, and 12.

The owner of the dealership gave me a ride in his 997 Turbo. It was amazing. The turbo spools up at 1900 rpm (variable vanes). The rush when accelerating was incredible. It also had the ceramic brakes option. I nearly had a nosebleed when he stomped on the brakes. Hands down, I would take the 997 Turbo over the modified Cayman.

Didn't the Evo beat the Cayman around the road course by three tenths?

Someone mentioned it in another forum/thread. I assumed it was in the R&T article. Probably comes down to tires.
