2007 Lingenfelter GTO.... NEW Z06 EATER!
Love your TT Vette.
I starting out the other way around LOL I have the WW EVO and getting the C6Z06 or doing what you did to a C6 in spring I noticed you had work done in CT.
How is it for a DD?
I have been talking to "Vette Doctors" and East Coast Superchagering about upgrades. I'm in NY but CT is not far.
Sorry guys didn't mean to hijack the thread.
BTW MTI Hit 10s with that GTO but I'd still take the C6Z06 + same mods in the Vette and it would go Faster than Gto. Weight. Areo etc.

c6 vettes are great bargains IMHO (the level above Evo/STi). they handle well, have awesome coefficient of drag, awesome gearings, and awesome engines/seemless acceleration - all these are even more true for the Z06. not to mention the c6 looks freakin gorgeous too.
running huge power on pump gas doesn't hurt either

Thanks man. I would say between the two shops you are looking at, ECS would be my pick.
As far as how it is for a DD... it runs like stock when off boost. It's been my DD all summer with the TT kit on, over 3000 miles with no issues. Last edited by Green_Goblin; Nov 1, 2006 at 06:49 AM.
I saw an issue on tv a while back where the took a vette and removed the rear exhaust, bolted up 2 turbo's and all the necessary hardware. didn't really look that great from a cosmetic approach, and I really didn't believe that it would work, but the hp/tq numbers shown on the dyno proved it did make a ton of power, and the turbo sound(granted it was on tv) sounded really cool, especially since they were hung under the rear valance with no hood over them.
didn't list a price, but a great alternative to the everymans approach of a supercharger under the hood.

Yes, that was the STS kit build up... the STS remote mount turbo kit is very effective, but it is always better to have the turbos as close to the manifold as possible. That's why I went with the APS kit instead. The turbos are still underneith the car, but they are in the front, directly below the exhaust manifolds. The remote mounted turbos are much, much louder than mine, which you cant even really hear from outside the car... The STS kit is about $1500 or so less than the APS kit if I'm not mistaken...

They specialize in Paxton Novi centrifugal blowers. I makes big power/tq numbers on pump and even bigger ones on meth. ECS's meth kit is world class and is used all over the country by other shops when building FI'd cars. If you don't mind driving to the heart of CT, though, XX Tuning is the shop that built my car, and I couldn't be happier. They have done 3 or 4 APS kits on C6's since mine, and they are experts on the install. Turbo> Supercharger IMO.

I can't wait for spring I have missed having a Vette for a long time and the fact that it can be DD is a big plus for me. I like the idea of a TT set up better than a supercharger but I'm keeping my options open until I see if I get the ZO6 ( have one on order) or the C6 .
My Evo is OK but it is about at the limit of a street/track car 700+whp. Almost went with the 42r instead of the 37r and I think that would have put me over the top and then it would pretty much be track only car. Yeh there are a few out on the streets and they claim to be DD but they are not good DD beleive me I've talked to most of the guys that everyone on this site knows and everyone said stick with your set up.
Keep us updated on the TT setup. Are you planning to go to the track with it?
Thanks
BTW Are you keeping the Evo stock?

C6's (and C5's for that matter) make for awesome daily drivers. This has been one of the most reliable cars I have ever owned. Even with the power it is making now, It has still been my daily driver, and will continue be in good weather. I am a turbo advocate (Talon TSi, WRX, Galant VR4, C6 TT) but I also like the results that centrifugal blowers are getting on LSx motors... I plan on getting to the track this coming spring, once a beefier rear end is in, along with some suspension upgrades and a stronger clutch. With DR's I am shooting for a 60' time around 1.7-1.5 and an ET of mid 10's at 130ish. I also plan on AutoXing the Evo...
My wife is telling me I can mod only one car, so besides Blizzaks and HID's, I promised her I'd leave the Evo stock...
But I con'd her into letting me get the Evo when I was supposed to be looking for automatic trucks, so for our anniversary or some other holiday, I plan on talking her into letting me get the $1200 Bushur kit.
That's prolly all I'll do, I can't have two crazy modded cars, or else I'll need to get a third car as a DD!
