yup in the thread I started about the exact same dyno article i also asked about how the 335i will do with the Evo IX on the freeway stock for stock....
i assume the 335i will have better Cd...i mean not many cars have a Cd worse than the Evo's .38 lol
it'll be a good run for sure, and maybe the 335i will pull as speed gets higher...damn it gotta get one of my friends to buy one so i can find out
on a closed course of course

When my dealership's owner found out what I was going to pay for the IX he offered to make me a deal on a brand new M3 comp. pkg. and I still chose the IX. So I think you should go for some more test drives before you start making assumptions like that on a forum like this.
you have your cup of tea and i have mine...I have a 323i ('00 model with 110k miles on it) and i still drive it... my business partner has a 740i and an E55 AMG, and we have one shop Evo 8 and one shop Evo 9... And i think the BMW and the AMG are more solid cars than the Evo 8 and the Evo 9. I have had my 323 for over 7 years and not one major repair (just replacing o2 sensors and wear and tear parts). I take my evo clients in my BMW and they all compliment on the feel of my slow bimmer
With the new 335i, i'll be able to do some r&d and see what we can squeeze out of the stock ecu. I agree with you, the m3 is a over-priced and it's not as fast as it should be. For my 323, i drive it for fun and it rides good and handles good. I upgraded it with 18" rim and JIC coilovers - i can keep up around the corner with most of the evo's on the road...

Just got back from looking at the 335i,,, and well I wasnt really wowed with it.
It looks flat from the side with a really big door. Kinda reminds me of a Honda accord coupe.
Not where I will be dropping $47k.
Maybe a test drive is in the mix.
Maybe I will have to wait a year and see the X. Evo X that is.

just wait till Active Autowerke gets their hands on the 335....its gonna be pretty dope. if you get or know anyone that gets the 335 and wants to mod, let me know (PM me) for Active's performance software/parts when they get make it.
Having driven several exotic cars, BMW Z8,745Li, E55 AMG,SLK 55 AMG, I would have to say that it is silly to compare luxury/performance cars to WRC’s converted to highway use, I.e. Evo VIII. BMW's are works of art! But an Evo is an engineering marvel! For all out performance/ track use, the Evo is the best bang for the buck without question. But for highway cruising, long distance trips, BMW gets my vote. You just can’t compare the two.
