520whp is definetly possible on meth and 93. i made that on alky and 93. no way in hell he can run 30psi and running straight methanol is not the same as running methanol injection.

Also there is a reason why people run 50/50 and a simple search will tell you why.

When I said "straight methanol" I meant mixture wise. I know why people run the 50/50 but also a lot of people (EVOs) do run the 100% methanol thru injection.

How much boost is he going to be running 28?

well since the 35r has a 65lb/min wheel and it flows alot i would hope he doesnt run 28psi. something in the low 20's would be my guess. something around 20-23 psi, depending on the tuner.

do you know why he went with the perrin kit over the UR one? just curious.

Youre telling me with methanol injection hes going to run 22psi and make 500whp? I have no idea why he got that kit though.

I am assuming that around taht psi he can make 500whp, but i might be wrong. He would probably fall short at taht psi now that i think about it. Maybe 25-26 psi will get him there but whatever not without race gas.
Alot of people worry about numbers man, they arent a big deal. Every dyno will read differently and in the end the dyno is just a tool for tuning. your friend should worry about how the car feels and runs rather than the numbers it puts out. Sure its nice to have bragging right, but in the end the car is going to be fast, no doubt about it. Just make sure he takes it to a reputable tuner ( like junior) and everything will go well.

according to greddy in Irvine, ca. they had there project sti there. they maxed out on 400whp. they said that was pushing it do to fact the heads are open deck. similar to the b series honda. can't go pass a certain hp because that motor does not have a solid block like our 4g63. the cylinder would start to rattle because no wall structure. so in your buddys sti, he will make great hp then pow, bam, boom.

BTW, my friend is only 18 and he drives like a maniac.... thats why Im thinking its not going to last, regardless of the the tune.
my friend bryan is friends with this guy you are talking about he went up to ics with him to get it tuned but ams rented the dyno for the day so he couldn't get it tuned. he was telling me about his setup and i was also curious about how this motor will handle that kind of power

thats BS. it has been proven that the heads stop flowing at 55x whp about. The block is a semi closed deck and i personally have 500whp+ on stock heads and a non sleeved block. they are tons of 400whp gt30r STI's out there. 590whp has been made on the stock sti block, but that was for sure a high reading dyno, but it still equates to well over 500whp.

Who ever told you that is retarded.

Varrius,

Sorry bro but I have to friendly disagree with you on your statement:

"It depends on if he has motor mounts, etc" << (from page one second reply)
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Could you explain me/us how a motor mount would affect the power of a engine? I am intrigued with your answer...

Thanks!!

Carlos

The motor will produce too much powa and will shred the motor mounts?

On a serious note, my friend with a 2006 STI shredded his motor mounts while it was bone stock and took it to the track. Apparently they have plastic motor mounts while the 04-05's are different. Maybe this was what Varrius wanted to say lol?
