In the mean time...my brother got a little project for himself. Taking up my dime's spot :x :x hehe. Anyways I couldnt pass it up for FREE@!! 71' 2002. original owner..still runs! No rust and a perfect canidate for a motor swap. Were deciding what motor, dont know too much about these bimmers..so its either a new BMW motor or a 350 we have sittin around. Sorry no dime pics but I am sure you will appreciate this car as its almost 510 like.

For the 2002, might I suggest a 3 rotor. Low center of gravity and more engine bay room for some forced induction.
Also, I heard that U joints or CV joints snap like twigs in most high power swap applications that keep the rear axle in 2002s and later 3 series.

Wow, i can't believe I'm just now seeing this thread. The car looks amazing, and count me in as insanely jealous of your car. It seems to me you'll have no problem making a career out of modifying cars. I'd be more than willing to fork over some dough for that when finished.
