I'm still baffled as to how this happened. The damage is so extreme it had to have been abused in some way prior to this incident which started the cracks. Watch the first link then the aftermath link. Amazing.

Never seen a piston look like a dropped china saucer before. I've also never seen a block blow in big chunks like that. Intense pressure, and presumably predetonation, will do that to you though.

well that sux.... good thing that i replaced my pistons and rods on my tsi and never go higher than 19psi w/o race gas
