I guess made for the USA, but not in the USA.
There are a lot of companies that make stuff "for export only". When I lived in Central America, all of the "good" bananas were all exported to the USA, not sold in the country at all. They were grown specifically to be sold elsewhere.

Japan's tax is based on engine displacement and vehicle weight. Luckily we don't have regulations like that in the states.

lol but i believe there were 2.5L models earlier in the years or along the lines of STI. if i recalled, i did a lot of mad research on the 2.5 RS coupe, known as the NA MONSTER. well too bad, i like my IX, its a Hell raiser ill tell you that.
