MazdaSpeed 6. What do you think?

Hey guys, I'm considering purchasing one, but I'm not to sure about the reliability of Mazda. I mean, they sell quite a few 3's and 6's, so they must be fairly descent!?

I also wanted to get everyone's opinion's on the car. I have found aftermarket support already, so upgrades wouldn't be so much of a problem.

Thanks for your input!

It's been discussed before, to sum it up, the car is overweight and too expensive.

They may be heavy but they are not overpriced. IMO they are a luxurious Evo. A little slower, a little less nimble, and heavy. But the interior is great.. comfortable, nice appointments, good features.

My friend picked one up for $23,000. Brand new 06 MS6. Had no special discounts, just as advertised on the lot.

They run mid-high 13's pretty much stock.

They're far from bad cars. Good build quality. It's basically a fatter Evo.

I doubt that. There are alot of people that have a hard time getting the evo to run mid/high 13's stock. im sure that car is very capable of a 14.1-14.4 When i sold mazdas i would occasionally beat the **** out of one, and to be honest the engine didnt feel so freely reving and the drive train was mean for highway use.

It is not a race car, a weekend racer or even a occasional street racer. Its the younger business guys car who enjoys getting to work a little faster than his regular M6 sedan.

My friend has one and by no means is it as visceral as an EVO, but it is nice inside and pretty quick too.

Please stop calling it a sports car. or a luxury car.... Thats like us having leather in our EVO's and calling them Luxury Sedans... I personally would take a WRX over it any day of the week.... Also the Legacy GT is the same concept.

When the mazda reps would come by the dealership once a week or so, they would discuss the plans of the car (Pre-conception) and the object of this car was 100% not to compete with any other AWD cars on the market (STI/EVO) They were building it to have the same guidelines as a 330XI and any other entry level compact sedans. The kick you feel under the accelerator is average for most other cars in my opinion, and im not just being optimistic because i own an evo... I would 10 times out of 10 take the speed 3 over the speed 6

If thats in ur price range, i would get the G35. The mazda 6 speed is not a 13 second car... hah more like high 13's or 14's. Its a luxurious evo like ppl say. I would be interested in that or the G 35 if u want more luxury.

I test drove one and loved it except it had no power, otherwise its an excellent car. And there is no way in hell this car will run quicker than high 14,s.That i can guarentee you.0-60 is listed as 5.9. seconds and the qtr. mile at 14.8. And after driving it i can tell you thats what it felt like. I,m not putting the car down, like i said i really liked it a lot except for the weak power. If you buy one you wont be dissapointed if you mod it. The price i got for the top of the line model without the navigation was 30k even. But for the price to buy and mod one you can have an evo. The Mazda is definetely more luxurious than the evo.

They are not 23,000, you must be thinking of a MS3, not a MS6. Try 34,000, depending on which trim level. I did test drive one before buying an EVO and the one thing I did not like about it, was the 100-0 AWD. Not like an EVO, with a 50-50 AWD. The one thing I did like about the car, other then the interior, was the lack of lag. With it's smaller turbo, it's in boost almost immediately.

Idiots. The car can easily be had for 26. There are tons of them for sale for that price. People have bought them for that cheap before, because Mazda dealerships want to push them.

Also. Theres a guy here in Phoenix than ran a 13.8 at 102 in his MSPD6. It was bone stock. How is that so unbelievable. The Evo can run low 13's stock. Hell havent there been a few to get in the 12's? They are comparable in power, if not in weight.

Oh and I saw apost in another forum recently that had quoted a Magazine stating that Mazda had fewer factory warranty problems than Toyota or Honda last year.
Ill see if I can find it
