i would fall on my face too on the first run. but after watching other evo's and how they bog i know better now.

the first evo i saw in person was running 10.5+ in the 1/8th. it was getting beat by a probe (an mx6 with a ford tag). the probe was running 9.5..about normal. the guy bogged and bogged and never got the launch down. it killed him.

it's amazing how much people improve with just a little track time, rather it's a drag strip or the auto-x.

i am actually more impressed that you came foward. i am sure there are many guys on here who wouldnt have the guts to come forth.

FYI...the first time i track my evo i am sure i will be ****tin bricks, trying to make sure i dont look stupid, so i will be lucky to get your first time. i TOO SUCK at launching. I cant seem to figure this car out yet. I even practiced on wet groud to try to break the tires loose, but man...the AWD is nasty. i am used to a FWD car with 270whp breakin the tires loose 1 through 2.

Better luck next time

No worries, everybody has to learn sometime, and lots of mistakes will help build character as well as skill.

I still remember my first time at the strip... and the drive around the water box, back up into it, and burnout I did... still in reverse...

I could tell it was your first time at the track with that car. Just to get things straight I personally never dogged on your car. I was expecting you to kick my butt all the way down the track. But its ok cuz I saw you run faster later that night Congrats by the way!!

And to everyone else. The only reason I posted that video is because it was a good win for me and I wanted to show all the probe/mx6 people on probetalk where I am a very well respected member. Its not every day that I beat a Evo at the track. Like I said earlier, I was expecting to get owned.

I find it funny how a lot of you guys make fun of my car and call it a POS. The Evo and the MX6 are in a completely different class. Its not even fair to compare the two. Your cars have over 100 horsepower right out of the box and all wheel drive. I fully know what those cars are capable of. And I never said anything bad about them. Heck my car runs 15.8 stock!!

My car may be slow compared to you guys. But how many FWD cars do you normally see running times like mine all motor that haven't put over 10g into them? All I have are basic bolt ons and stock internals w/ 110k on them.

I am going to go to Edgewater tomorrow (6/4) and hopefully will be running on slicks. Im hoping to pull off a 13 second timeslip. I'd gladly run up again't one of you, but I know ill loose.

But we'll see, it depends on the weather and if he will let me borrow them to run on.

Bro, I called the MX6 a POS because I used to own one. I have had nothing but problems with that piece of crap, especially that God-awful Ford CD4E transmission, so bare with me, because I said that from experience. I didn't dog on your car because you raced the Evo, I dogged on it due to previous ownership.

My post wasn't focused directly at your response. I was saying in general to everyone that said something about mx6's.

And I hear ya on the trannies. I am on tranny number 3 within 30k. It would last longer prob if I wasn't at the track every weekand haha!!

Yuppers

If for some reason I can't get the slicks for Wednesday I'll go to Tri-State on Thursday. I prefer tri-state over edgewater. I'll let you know.

Mistakes are one thing but come on!!!
How does a guy like that even know about the Evolution???
Did he walk into a dealer and say, "that car is cute."
Maybe he was still breaking the car in.

Look how close that race was even with a limp d*ck start like that

Read the entire post bud. It was his first time at the track with that car. He ended up running a 13.7 later that night

Here is a another POS probe

http://www.speedtoys.com/~daveh/Matt/12.35at128.wmv

Over 30k for a Mitsubishi mirage with a turbo and bodykit??, I would hope your running 12's!

You do realize that you can be drving a BMW for the same price?

You guys can dog our cars all you want but I spent way under 10k total and I have just as much power as many of you and my car weighs almost 800lbs less!

My probe IS my pos. But it is a fast pos and it looks great too.

I drive a mitsubishi Eclipse as a DD and Ill tell you I will never own a Mitsubishi again! "headaches"
