Good race you guys! And to all the "kids" posting can't drive, lame launch..... you try it!!! You'll notice that the guys/gals that go to the track and race .... respect each other. It is amazing how many of the contributors to this forum have never missed a shift, bogged a launch or lost to a better driver. It is the "spectator" crowd that always talks the talk but never walk the walk. Props to both drivers for racing at the tracK.

Congrats on your first race evil evo and good race streetthismx6! At least you did'nt stage with you back wheels, which I did the second time I ever raced years ago.

Have fun!

I think it is pretty cool you have something different and all, but saying I ran blah blah for under $10K total............ Big deal!!!!! My buddy just got an 88, 5.0 and ran a 13.89 for 2200$. I don't think I'd brag about beating any car on the track that I knew was driven very poorly. Taking it to the extreme, do you brag about beating an EVO when you passed one parked!!!, LOL!

I never braged about beating the Evo!! Nor do I ever brag about beating anyone at the track. Why don't you read all the posts before you say something like that.

And as for your buddy with the 5.0, that car again is in a totally different class then mine. Hello!! Its RWD and has TWICE the ****ing displacement as my car does. Its not hard to get a mustang into the 13's. Again read all the posts, I simply said, how many FWD cars do you see running times like mine all motor?? Not how many cars in general.

Dude, reread the post, nowhere did he brag about beating an Evo. Chill out man.

Over 30k for a Mitsubishi mirage with a turbo and bodykit??, I would hope your running 12's!

You do realize that you can be drving a BMW for the same price?

You guys can dog our cars all you want but I spent way under 10k total and I have just as much power as many of you and my car weighs almost 800lbs less!

My probe IS my pos. But it is a fast pos and it looks great too.

I drive a mitsubishi Eclipse as a DD and Ill tell you I will never own a Mitsubishi again! "headaches"

Bwahahahahaha, this post is hilarious. You would actually own a unreliable American-made POS than a Japanese-built supercar like the Evo? If that's what you want, by all means go ahead. But I still hold the right to criticize you, and frankly, you are an idiot. If all you care about is straight-line buddy, get yourself a pus-tang 5.slow if you're all about 1/4 mile times. Spending 10k on a FWD POS that has much less aftermarket support than an Evo? Give me a break. We can spend less than $3K and have more gains in power than you could. The only thing you can do is swap the motor for the J-spec KLZE, which is great for a lovely 200hp

Sorry, but this post pissed me off. You have absolutely no knowledge of the reputation the Evo holds overseas, do you? Has your car ever been in any competing sporting events? Has your car ever won 4 WRC championships? Has your car ever held the same cult status as this vehicle has? That's what I thought. Keep your ignorant statements to yourself until you become better informed to make intelligent responses.

BTW, Evo's look so much better than any Probe GT ever will, despite the number of body conversions you people will do

Yes we could've gotten a BMW for the same price, but does the BMW offer pure performance for the buck? It's in a totally different class. We prefer pure performance over luxury anyday.

If you think your car is a "fast POS", let's go to a race course and see who's the fastest, eh? I want to see if your fast Probe compares with the Evo when it comes to making corners fast.

SpeedProbe, the Chassis isn't based on the Mirage platform and hasn't been since the Evolution VI. It's based off the Lancer Cedia (Same chassis as the ES, LS, OZ with a few thousand spot and seam welds for rigidity). Personally I don't see where the hostility came. We saw a good run from the MX-6 vs a bad run from the Evo. Two completely different cars, two completely different classes, two completely different drivers.

Pepe, you do know that the Probe/MX-6 was originally designed to REPLACE the Mustang, right?

As for the WRC Championships...the car your driving has won 0. The Evolution 8 (US Spec) has never seen (and probably not will see) WRC competition.

Not everyone in the world wants to drive an Evo.

Personally I like both the Probe GT and EVO, both my brothers have them and they are both great cars, but you obviously can't compare them because they are no where close in comparison in any aspect, they both are simply far different cars.
But they both are awesome for what they each are meant to be!

Personally, I don't really know of any cars stock for 30k that will outperform an EVO. As for the BMW, I love BMWs but for 30K, you are getting nowhere close to an EVO performance. You'll get some luxury but for some performance, you'll have to put another 15k-20k for a M3. So I think the EVO is the best bang for your buck in terms of performance.

OK, maybe bragging was too strong a word, but a "good win"??? Were you really excited about beating someone who can't drive?? I know I get psyched when I beat someone who I think is really good. It's like beating up a cripple :-) Anyway, to each his own.

"The only reason I posted that video is because it was a good win for me and I wanted to show
all the probe/mx6 people on probetalk where I am a very well respected member".

If you read the Proble Talk forum posts StreetThis talks about his times. Really only the other people talk about the Evo. ...Especially here (not suprisingly).

If you don't know what you are doing, it can be impossible to launch AWD.

I personally saw a new WRX owner bog his launch 3 times in a row, until *someone* told him to stop being a *****, and drop the thing at 5000 rpm.

I knew from personal experience, having run 2.3 60ft times in my AWD Talon. Now I run 1.8 60ft times, and still hate myself.
