Here is a link to nasioc. Doug at Top Speed has posted dyno results of a 07 STI. I think the dyno is a Dyno Jet. Also, Doug is a AMAZING Tuner. He is one of the most well known tuners in the subaru world. This is where I am taking my car to get tuned on the 17th of this month. I'll put that STI to shame.....

The new WRX TR are much faster than the previous WRX, but its still not on par with the Evo ..... This year's WRX vs EVO will be more interesting..

The battle cry of the Evo clan (my car can make more power with the same money on mods) is a dying line. The new WRXs and STis are making large amounts of power for less money than before. It is possible to run in the mid 12s with a WRX with less than 2K in mods. I'll just have to call up my friend tomorrow to get the details.

I was present when an 06 WRX with the mods I mentioned made 316wtq on a mustang dyno. On the same day my stock 2.0 litre, open deck, no variable cams, engine with a TBE, gutted oem uppipe, STi turbo, Ebay topmount, fuel pump, injectors, and a road tuned made 280wtq with 22psi in the midrange. But numbers are just that and I never took it to the track but it was quick. From what I learned so far in the Evo it just feels much faster, more precise, the gearing helps a lot...the response is immediate, and I haven't even tuned it I wish I could have kept the WRX in addition to the Evo

^^Yes, it is cheaper to mod the Evo and the power potential is sick...looking forward to it now that I have a TBE.

see so it is true that they do put down some good numbers on the dyno. but how bout the tracks. i hardly see a subie run down the track with 8 seconds on the clock YET.

you are actually quite wrong my friend, the shorblock's are identical. granted, USDM shortblocks are weaksauce compared to their japanese counterparts, but oh well. the heads are a different casting though, and run different cams. you need to quit the elitist BS and accept that cars other than an evo can be very quick with minor mods. 300 wheel with bolt-ons and a tune? no, not unless you are a tuning god running something like an autronic, motec, ect. 300 wheel with a decent turbo, boltons, and a good tune? yes 300 wheel is easily within grasp. dont forget, there are subies that make that from the factory in other parts of the world (on basically the same "****ty" VF39)

basically you guys need to tell your friend you will believe him when he actually puts that power down on a dyno, otherwise, he needs to stop being annoying.

nice....

Maybe people we got a huge competetion and being threatend by somthing that is faster or can be faster....I dunno. All I know is. Their interior loooks better and rumbles better. Looks and sound means nothing to me. But speed is everything

Performance before anything....
Rims is last on my list

Wow dyno racers are so funny, seriously dude, the WRX doesn't make 300whp+ with a couple of bolt ons and stock turbo, just not happending. I don't care what the dyno says, it's reading high? With 300whp+, the WRX should be running very low 12s@110mph+ start showing me time slips. Dude this is why I try to stay out of the other car section, seriously a lot of BS gets thrown around in here, especially from the Subaru crowd. I'll admit it, I hate Subaru owners with a raging passion, even before I owned a EVO I had a deep seeded hatred toward you guys. Subaru owners are the biggest BSers ever, and seriously when everybody is making some type of power, and one makes a lot more, Subaru owners are so quick to jump to the conclusion of wow, great power man. EVO owners on the other hand question the legitimacy of the dyno and ask for further proof. It's great because EVO owners aren't easily fooled and we know when are cars are progressing forward to greater potential. Subarus will always lag behind, sorry.

I always wanted a Subie but I couldn't afford both.
But the fact that you have to take half of the engine apart to do minor maintenance was bothering me.

The new wrx is making very good #'s but the tiny tdo4 just runs out of breath and cannot make anymore than 270 WHP but it will make gobs of torque. With a STI turbo they can make real good #'s. I will post a link to Buschurs wrx with STI turbo. I think he made 311 HP and 390 tq on pump gas. He is confident the car will go 11's easily. The 06'/07' wrx comes with higher compression pistons, thats why they are making these really good #'s. I have no idea why subaru did this. They also underrated the 06'wrx as well it dynoed around 15whp lower than a Evo 9 on Buschurs dyno.

Here is the link http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/show...ht=buschur+wrx

Its a little long but it has alot of good info in it.
