Quick question on 2005 C6 Vette

I know they put down 400bhp, 337whp stock.

I'm curious what they put down after intake, exhaust, and tune.

My boss is looking to get one from a local dealership, the dealership is claiming "close to 500bhp", but I'd be suprised if that was the case. BTW, it' automatic, not 6-speed.

I'm thinking more like 450bhp, 380whp.

Anywhoo... assuming it's 380whp, how will my tuned (~330whp) Evo IX compete against this on the drag strip ?

The traction and gearing gives you an advantage.. from a roll its no contest...while the automatic shows lower dyno numbers, on the drag strip it tends to be faster.

Are you sure it doesnt have headers? If thats the case he is likely close to 400whp after a good tune with a few other supporting mods.

Thanks for the info...

I don't think it has headers, but I'm not sure.

Looks like he'll be able to take me for now. No biggie. Thanks again

you mean a C5 zo6 not the C6 rite?!?!?.... it would all be in the launch.. if you can get him down low with your AWD and a gangster 60' he'll have to work hard to cathch you up top.. which thats what zo6's are for... but then again he's and AUTO and he's got a lil more to him in a drag race... he doesnt have to worry about shifting.. you do.. and his launch will be easier than yours.. but does he have traction?!?

This isn't a Z06.

This is it here: http://www.baystatemotorsports.com/0...Ylw%204kmi.htm

Only mod listed on the site is "B&B exhaust"... dunno if that includes headers, maybe you can tell from pics.

It also has a tune and intake (at least that's what I was told)

i only trapped 110.5 so i was heatsoaking pretty bad, he trapped 106. Ended up being 12.49 to 13.6

You people are confused...

It's a 2005, thus it's a C6.

It's a base model Corvette (NOT the Z06) and it's got exaust, intake, and tune...

It's NOT a C5, it's NOT a Z06.

with bullets he could pick up 5whp .. Hes likely in the 380 range and the thing is effortless to launch with the auto.. my VII had all the mods below and at speed the vette is much faster!.. definately much slower at launch though.

Drag strip = him
Road/track = you, by far, matter of fact, a regular C6 has no hopes against a decently prepared Evo (we're talking, maybe exhaust, tune, and some decent tires)... A C6 Zo6 on the other hand....
