You cant forget, the GT500 is slower in every category compared to the regular 400hp c6 z51.. the GT500 is a muscle car.. i.e. not in the same market.. the viper couldnt be any less refined and Top Gear even choose the regular vette over the viper. Its so raw its almost a track use only type car and is hardly refined enough to use as a daily driver.

For 100K you will get a car that will out perform anything withing 5x that price range.... and lets not forget the current 06 is already in the 10s with just drag radials with 450whp stock.. imagine what this car will do and the fact that you can just dial in the boost, run a smaller pulley etc... should make take no effort to reach 700whp.

The GT-R will be competing against the the 2008 c6 z51 i.e. 435bhp(more whp and much lighter) with a track tuned suspension and other support. The new ls3 with basic bolt ons will be seeing close to 500whp with just a cam, headers, intake and intake manifold (people are already changing their ls2 to ls3 specs for this added power). NA power is better then FI power anyday... and there is the superior weight and aerodynamics. What will the factory top speed of the GTR be? 2008 z51 should be 190+mph top speed from the factory... plus lets not forget, you can mod the vette for 1/5 the price of the GTR... lets see, full wide body conversion, with huge wheels and 06 brakes will only run you about $4500.

The GT-R has no chance at touching the z06 or SS.. they are both laughing.

Just remembering.. the LS3 is already rumored to be 6.2 liters..and with the newly designed intake manifold, the 435bhp(425 for the base) the 2008 z51 is rumored to make the car is still leaving alot of power on the table.. The header very simplistic header design is easy to switch out to make big power by going with long tubes... essentially a ls3 with forged internals and supercharger would be great for this car.... seems like thats the current engine guess?

Responsiveness. It's easier to balance the car mid-corner when you don't have to wait on the power to build.
