97 mitsubishi eclipse- need help engine problem

97 mitsubishi eclipse- need help engine problem

i have a friend with a mitsubishi eclipse 97 gst but has the jdm motor in it with a garrett turbo. his car shooting out tons of blue smoke aka burns alot of oil. he has taken this car to the same guy three time and the guy puts a head gasket in it every time and replace the trubo but it only fix the problem for maby a week. what could be the root cause to this problem?

Has he done a compression test and leakdown test? This will determine if the piston rings are the fault

Valve stem seals may of gone bad too.

What a POS mechanic .. why would he want to replace the head gasket 3 times? the corrective action and the discrepancies do not match.

Replacing the cylinder head 3 times is absolutely unheard unless you are running NOS or overheating the car. Have you guys done a compression test? have you guys inspected the turbo? is the turbo a used unit? it might have bad seals.

How is the power? how is the boost?, what is the temp?, it could be too many things including a valve job but your discrepanicies are very generic.

You need to spit the beans and give more details.

Is the return oil line on the turbo kinked or otherwise blocked in some way?

sorry for the missing info, the guy throws parts at it and has no clue that is why im now looking into it. i don't have the car in yet but will do that as soon as i know the test done but thats what i was thinking. thanks for the help i was just looking for any as know problem.
