i bought a 2004 brand new i put 60k on it. Never had a problem at all, best car i've ever had. if its still under warranty the only thing you have to pay for is gas and tires. I got killed on trade in, i paid 33k otd and only got 19k, 26 months later.

here's a before and after, theyre sexy cars ;-)

Good luck!!!!!!!

I had one before I got my Evo back in 03 and that is the car that inspired me since it was a quattro and got me hooked on AWD. I had a coil recall done and a clutch that I smoked replaced but other than that it was great. My wife was hit from behind by a truck and totaled it she walked away from the wreck. I would buy another one.

i got away from the coil problem lol....

those cars can take a beating, the stock clutch lasted me the whole time i owned it, i killed the stocker in the evo in 8k lol so hard not to launch this car at every light lol

yep they have like 200 air bags lol

Maybe I'll weigh in on the POS side of the argument. See Consumer Reports also (though I don't pay much attention to their reviews, the reliability surveys are revealing).

Anyway, I bought a '98 2.8 Quattro 5-sp w/sport package new. Not even including what failed during the warranty period, it developed: passenger side airbag failure, drivers side airbag failure, cruise control failure, CV seals leaked, CVs replaced, water pump, timing belt, instrument panel problems, etc. etc. Easily the most expensive car to own I've ever had.

It turned into my wife's car when I bought the Evo over three years ago. Just traded it in with 98k miles for fear of more problems to come. Original clutch...like someone else mentioned.

The basic stuff (body integrity, engine, trans) all seem very good on them, I will say. If you don't mind plowing money into them from time to time, they could go 200k+ and still feel good.

Probably wouldn't buy another, mainly because life is too short to drive the same car twice. The Audis are a little soft and too detached for my taste anymore, after the Evo.

P.S. MY Fords ('96 Contour and '03 Escape) have been excellent.

haha b5's are okay..but they look pretty puny compared to the b6's and b7's

if i get the b6, ill probably get tints and springs first, and then get subs and a radar, police scanner, jammer, and a intake and chip..i was reading on the audi forums and they say that the b6 isnt that bad of a car
