My latest

Long time no post... Some of you old school EvoM'ers will remember me. This is what I used to rock:

Then this happened:

So then I got this:

And this is my daily driver:

Hopefully I'll get an Evo X in the second model year... It feels good to be back.

How do you like the A3? I'm considering one for a daily/winter car... down the road.

What he said^^^^^ I'm considering an A3 as well but I'm looking for the 3.2 quattro version.

I'd like the 3.2 but in reality, I'd probably be better off with the 2.0T and it's marginally better fuel economy.

You hate it because he got a sweet Porsche?

I don't mind seeing wrecked car threads when I know the occupants are okay... the car did its job.

Thanks for the comments...

I got hit getting on the 163 freeway in SD, rolled down an embankment, etc. Guy took off, CHP blamed me...

At the time my Evo died, I also had an S2000 which I drove for a while. Found out I got a job in VA, traded the S2K for a B7 S4. Drove that for a while, traded it in for the 911. It was a big step (and I am not a rich guy), but sacrifices are worth it sometimes. I REALLY considered another Evo instead of the A3, but the cops here in VA suck bad. Anything foreign with a wing and/or exhaust = instant tickets.

As for the A3, it's a great car. Surprisingly quick, more mod-friendly than an Evo (reflash = 50hp/100tq gain ), and totally practical. I've had it lowered, tinted, etc. since that pic - I plan on putting BBS wheels on it at some point. As for the quattro vs. FWD argument, the FWD car is actually better handling and mine worked fine in the winter last year. Fuel economy-wise, my A3 gets over 30mpg on the freeway and about 24mpg in town - both of which are much better than the 3.2.

I'll get another Evo someday - I miss mine a LOT. I had a lot of money into it (do a search on my user name and you'll see posts going WAY back for the build up). Most of the work was done @ RMR, with a bunch of Cusco, HKS, Power Enterprise, Endless, etc. goodness along the way.

Thanks again for all the compliments! It's good to know you guys are enthusiasts, not haters.

I was wondering if the mileage rating was legit. Sounds like it's doable. Not sure 24/30 is that great, but passable. Do you have the manual or slushbox?
