I can tell you hands on that it does get excellent gas mileage...usually better than my evo.

My dad keeps his toy at my house 7 months of the year
05 c6 red on red drop top

Oh and if you have yet to encounter it, depending on throttle the forced 1st to 4th shift which allows the vette to not have the gas guzzler tax can be a bit annoying at times

uhh WRONG!..im also in the works of gettin a vette, but the thing with me, if its not a z06, i dont like it. Regular vettes bore me. Z06s make me crap my pants i LOVE those. I'm lookin to get a 04-z06 and it gets BETTER gas mileage than an evo

They make a CAGS Eliminator that is just easy to plug in the wires on the control module under the car and wam bam the 1-4 is gone.

I actually like the CAGS idea, B/c when you're not on it, It helps the gas mileage.

But when you're on WOT, you can shift to second. It doesn't matter anyway.

It actually does get better mileage than my evo.

I just sold my car for a z28. (ls1).

Nice car. I would've waited until the price's of the C6 Z06's came down. I wonder how the Corvette forums are.

Congrats on your purchase, not feeling the color though. I personally would have went white or black.

The Vette will achieve the same if not better gas than the Evo. So throw your comment out the window.

The C6 Vettes are no doubt amazing cars. Good buy even though you had to trade the MR, too bad you couldn't keep both. As long as you don't need the back seats in the Evo you'll be fine.

The C5 Z06s are down to around $25k, I might possibly consider one of those when it comes time to buy a new car. 0-60 in 4 and people are running 12-12.5 stock, plus they do well on the track.

There's a guy locally with a C6 Z06 who is an avid road racer and autoxer. Its tastefully modded and the exhaust he has on it just sounds sinister. I saw him on I65 the other day, and the car sounds like the devil unzipping the Interstate!

Congrats Manuel on your C6! I hope to see it at D4mance soon!

I think they are definitely nice looking but they are everywhere. I honestly don't think they are as fun to drive as an evo. and parts cost a lot more. Those are the reasons I would buy one over an Evo. The car is still very nice and definitely has a much sportier look to it.

How could you tell if a Vette is a base model or a Z06? Any differences exterior wise?

Not a bad choice at all. I dont know how people can say they are not as fun to drive, who dosnt love being able to stab the gas to get the rear of the car to come on around? and as far gas goes even the c6 zo6 gets better mileage.

Mmm Thats the sickest color for a vette besides daytona orange. Get a new exhaust, to open that baby up, I love the rumble of a v8. Do you have any plans for it?
