It also costs 70k. We're talking about the base model 2008 Vette in the high $40s = 436HP.

talking about Vettes, let's not forget that the Z06 is the only 1 worth mentioning. 7Liter 427, carbon/magnesium chassis, 3100lbs. let's not also forget that 1 spends around $15k on an EVO it will run fast. if you spend $15k on a Vette, it will go 200MPH. how many EVO's can do that!!! the EVO is a phenomenal car for the price range it is in.

HOWEVER, the only car that makes sense if getting rid of the EVO is the 2006 Porsche 911TT. not the 2007 model bcuz the variable vein turbos melt after EGT's reach 950 degrees C.

Porsche still launches like an EVO, has 480HP (crank), full warranty, Cali-friendly exhaust & has a higher topspeed than the Vette.

if anyone wants Vette performance for 1/2 the price, get a GTO. slap on an APS twin turbo kit, Harris cam, & Australian exhaust, drag radials-instant 10flat 1/4mile for less than $7500!!!!

One more time I must pitch my comment because the corvette is a relevant car in my life. Back in Sep 04 I was splitted between the C5 Z06 and the Evo 8 MR.

The corvette is one of the few american truly muscle cars that I get alone for many reasons. 4 months ago it was time for round two and I was again splitted between the C6 Vette with Z51 package or the BMW 335i.

I read about the new vette with 436hp and I think they set the standrads even higher. Unfortunately the purchase of a car no longer depends on just you, if you have any family members you must consider that a 2 door coupe doesn't do any good if your family is 3 or more.

I think this is a heck of a car and very well equiped. It is undeniably one of the best performance/price car package put out there in the market.

The insurane for me on a C6 Z06 was going to be cheaper than on my Evo 8 MR so I can mathematically guess that the egular C6 will be also significantly cheaper to insure than a Evo, this is a fact. I never test drove the regular C6 but I did test drove the C6 Z06 in a solo test drive(tons of fun!!)

Go for it bro.

Much more Clayton.. Tax , delivery destination. Not to mention that you have to be in the waiting list and your name have to be added into the national Chevrolet dealer allocation C6 Z06 program.

Basicly even though you might have money in hand, there are people in line before you to buy one.

It is a fancy and expensive car. This new 436hp definately fullfills that marketing $25000gap that Chevrolet stupidly left. People want it the Z06 but could affor another $25k.

So you was splitted between the Z06 and Evo? How was the recovery? Was it at the waist or down the middle? I bet it was down the middle and your brain was splitted in two... cause it's not working so goodie.

So I am reading correctly? The C6 Vette's will mop up on the evo's in every aspect but probably the 60' times? Better all around car on Road courses and Drags? I personally love the look of the C6's, especially the Z-06's. I just never paid much attention to the specs on it. As I have a family of 5, the 2 seater vette is out of the question for me/us anyway. Thought the Evo would hang with it on one track or another, no?

I have never had a Vette or any musclecar for that matter, but you simply cannot ignore the amazing abilities of Vettes nowadays. Coming from the factory with 400whp for 45k? You can get a new Evo for 30k and make more power with 15k in mods, but it's a lot more complicated (aftermarket clutch, loud exhaust, big turbo or at least meth/race gas, stressed motor). I love my Evo and consider it one of the best, but it's simply not better than a Vette (C5+), and the Vettes just keep getting better.
I drove one Monday at the AMS track day and wasn't real impressed especially with an automatic but I can see the potential. I'll stick with my used VIII with less than 26K invested.

House DJ,

You can also get a Buick Regal T type(the cheapest version of the Grand National) and put a upgrade turbo kit with a set of DR and run 10s for $3000 or $4000.

Also SQS sells you rear mounted turbos for most of the LT1 that can almost put you in the low 11s.

We are jumping of categories here. Yes, who does want a TT Porsche turbo? Cmon bro. Anyone here probably would have a Porsche TT if they had the money, realisticly how many sick bastard on this forum can afford them? exactly, that is what I am talking about.

Back to the basic, the guy is interested in the new C6 with 436hp. I am sure he already punch number in the calculator and figure out that the C6 Z06 is too much and that the new C6 is almost as quick.

Carlos
