There was a local guy running bolt-ons and smaller pulley running 12s without nitrous in a GTP.

They aren't super ugly, just everywhere.

I personally would buy a 97-98 BMW M3 4-door. I had one that was an auto (for my wife) and it was still a pretty fast car and handled really well. My friend just bought a 98 M3, 4-door, 5-speed for like $13,500 with 7x,xxx miles on it! Almost mint condition! Just a thought!

Also if anyone is interested I think he is going to sell it!!!!

true....I want a car with cheap spare parts that I can find in the nearest auto store...I think the GTP fits the bill here...they are soo common and also their parts which is exactly what I am looking for....as for the interior...I think it will take four years no problem ( I will keep it only for that long)...I have only one kid coming soon and my wife is very good in taking care of all our cars. I have a 1994 civic that me and my wife kept in an excellent shape.

I think the GTP is worth the money used...with my budget I can buy one that smells like brand new inside....thats hard to come by guys.....they are cheaply made...but your also not paying for a BMW quality here...everything has its price you know.

That is right... well except the price. It was $6300.

I wanted a nice daily driver and the GTP is 4 door, roomy, forced induction, auto and FULLY loaded. Leather, sunroof, power heated seats, etc...

Cant go wrong!

Any bolt ons to it big Jarrod? ...your right....with that price its hard to beat for what your getting

this car also comes with a good block factory ( it has a supercharger) and 8.5 compression...if I decided to go crazy before selling it...I talked to a guy that went 10s with stock block ( according to him)....which is great if its true

well I cant really trust someone else's swap for my daily...I would probably have to figure out some bugs in it before.....and if i decided to do it myself with my budget I would probably have to spend more money unless I buy some early 90s one which will make it unreliable. I think swaps are great for a project not a daily driver.

do you think that would run 12s though? with nitrous...how much of a shot?

I just did a K&N intake. I might do a Borla exhaust just because I hate the way the factory exhaust tips look and plus the exhaust would give it a little bit nicer note. Im probably not going to do much more if anything. I dont want the urge to rape my daily driver. I want it to last and still be in good condition.

Waz if you do pickup a GTP and need spare parts for it I know a dude about 40min from the shop here that picks up all the wrecked Grand Prix's, GTP's and Bonneville's. He parts them out, sells parts on Ebay, etc.... He has interior parts, body parts, engine's, tranny's, etc... Nothing is overpriced either and he's a really nice dude.

I picked up a few things from him for mine that were damaged when I bought it. Its practically brand new now.

Thanks for the help man...I will definately keep you updated ...I am sure that I will need something eventually if I get it...the only thing that keeps me going back and forth with the issue is that I dont know if I should get a 2004 or earlier model...if I get an earlier model I can start with a built tranny and start bolting and tuning....a newer model however will have better interior and better paint..etc ......Thats the dilemma here ...hmmmm

Anyways...I appreciate the tip big guy

Yep just bought one...MY 1987...a very clean one with 100k fully restored...everything looks and feels like out of the factory...it has an after market turbo and running 10s with 19psi ...the previous owner showed me a slip....Very happy...I am currently in Austin TX on a business trip....but cant wait for it to get home..I went to Florida last week to finalize the deal.
