GTR 7:38 'Ring time: Nissan cheats by using slicks?
Holy cow... read the comments on the video on youtube
I'll admit, I don't know **** about the 'Ring and it's current testing but procedures, but could someone tell me how fast that is, in light of the dispute on the youtube page? Who here is qualified enough to say?

If you watch the video you will note something interesting. After the car exits the pits (1:01) it blasts down to the timing traps. This takes it approximately five seconds to camera freeze at 1:06. For reference, note the blue portion of the wall to the right of the car from 1:01-1:06. In truth, if you watch closely, the car really trips the trap at 1:07 because at 1:06 it hasn't actually reached the lights. Again, watch carefully and you will see this.
Amusingly, at the end of the run they stop the clock not back at the timing traps which are at the end of that stretch marked by the blue portion of the wall on the right (see again 1:01 - 1:06) but the instant the car hits the beginning of that short stretch (8:48).
If you add back the five (really six since the car really actually starts at 1:07) seconds they demonstrated is needed to get to the traps the actual time is approximately 7:43 (+5) or 7:44 (+6).
Nearly fooled me too. Still impressive but not a 7:38.

he's stand might be right...
Start

Finish

others says NO
why?

My say is that point A to point B is total of 20.6km this is what they did. THat's the GP track time. A full lap mean point A to Point A, full lap will be 20.8km(Traditional Nur) I think that guy own a Porsche or ZO6. GTR is fast that's it. For others it looks ugly, it's heavy and this ugly car beats a 1million veyron. they will be back with any camo that slows her down to 7:38 and a fully dry track means they can still improve their time.
this lap time was base on 20.6, which they normally use.

"Yes the GTR cheated, they start in one place and then finish in another"

Finish

Check here! Notice the A and B, A is the START and B is the FINNISH. Notice another thing, Nurburgring has two race track, the other small one is the Grand Pric track marked with black line while the Nurburgring is marked in Grey line. Look carefully! You see the black line that crosses the grey line, that is where the A and B is, the little stretch inside the grey line isn't considered as track, it's a stopping line - a distance made use for to enter in and out of the pit (the black line). They don't mesaure the time inside THAT line, that is why the start and finnish is the A and B and this rule is the same for all that goes and do time attack at the Nurburgring. This is diffecult to explain but coz of my lack of english skill but at least it's NOT CHEATING, hope you all understand here
