What should one do in this situation?

We have a 21 year old college student, who wants an EVO/STi, SVT Cobra, Supra, Corvette... M3... whatever. One of these cars between saving some money for a down payment, depreciation pace and new cars coming out will be in reach. What is the bright thing to do, and why... and what is the DUMB thing to do and why. I need some help with this.

OPTION A:

Buy a $13-15,000 dollar car that doesn't truly fit the bill but is much better than driving a 1998 Honda Accord around... not really have much money to save because the car will recieve modification but it will be a decent car... just not what you REALLY want, BUT... it's better than driving a 1998 Honda Accord.

OPTION B:

Buy nothing, keep the 1998 Honda Accord and wait a year or two... put up with the slowness, crappy handling and god awful BORING-ness of the economical 4 door sports car and stick with the "GO BIG OR GO HOME", "do it RIGHT the first time"... "good things come to those who wait"... stuff and save up a decent down payment for the meannn car

OPTION C:

Buy a Pathfinder for $13,000 buckaroos and not have to modify anything... then have much less of a down payment but something and you don't have to drive the 1998 Honda Accord.

Which is the best pick and why?

OPTION D:

I would not ask strangers on an internet forum and use that college education to make a decision for yourself

im confused... mainly with option B .... is the honda accord slow, crappy handling, boring and a 4 door sports car ?

id go with option B if money is an issue though... the evo or any of those cars really need upkeep that isnt cheap. You can afford the car and insurance, but you still have to pay to play and fix whatever is broken.

Yes it is, but it would allow the individual to save money... for a down payment, to buy a car he/she really wanted and would be ENTIRELY not partially satisfied with

Save your money. Period. It's easy to spend money. It's hard to save it. Good things come to those who wait. Don't step on cracks in the sidewalk. Always wear clean underwear. You get the point.

option E. Be thankful you have that 98 accord and wait till you are finished with school and have a job, thereby making the decision for yourself easily instead of posting on internet forums...

+1

I was actually considering a 98-02 Accord along with my OZ Rally. My Maxima just couldn't take me to school or work reliably anymore. So be thankful you have something that is going to last more than 95,000 miles....

+1. Wait until you have a good, stable, high-paying job before deciding on what car to get. The decision will be much easier once you actually have the money to spend.
