new chevy cobalt TURBO?!?!?!

EDIT!!!! im sorry i put 290 hp by accident i meant 260 hp 260 tq or something like that...

I don't know. Chevy proved themselves once as having one of the best time attack cars around in the older cobalt. I wouldn't be suprised if we start seeing these things tearing up some track days more often or even smackin themselves WAYYYYY outta the 12 second range which seems to max out a lot of the old models potential...

for the money it's always been srt > cobalt but this cobalt is gonna tear the caliber srt UP!!!! what was dodge thinking? who's going to use that anywhere else but the streets? I doub't it has any handeling capabilies like the neon had (staged upgrades including coilovers)

Chevy should have the same idea in mind with this cobalt.. staged upgrades for the srt was designed for things such as SCCA... so we'll see....

Like stated above, it is 260hp/260tq. But the FWD is really going to be a hinderance (sp?) I think.

The USDM loves to put the front wheel drive turbos and not even give a Standard LSD. C'mon guys wake up, when JDM gives us AWD and turbo, granted at a premium, but with grip and power, grip is more important than power.

X2 ^^^, I had a SS/SC before the Evo and it was pretty impressive for what it was (underrated IMO), but the FWD just kills its potential and I didn't have the LSD either .

amen to that, it makes absolutely no sense to me to put out a performance 2 wheel drive car without some sort of LSD. my buddy has an 05 Cobalt SS/SC which didnt have LSD and puts down about 260whp and he can never ever get anything close to what you would call traction. i told him the first thing he should have done is get LSD in there but he's in somewhat of denial .

Same here dude. I owned an 07 SS/SC before my Evo and it was a pretty nice car for what it was. Definitely surprised me when I took my first test drive in it.

FWD was one of the only things I didn't like about that car.

I had the same issue, was putting down 270whp and 261wtq with no traction in 1st or 2nd and part of 3rd, it sucked, From a dig it was fun though hahaha.

FWD and the internals were a bit weak, but for the price of the car, what do you expect.

I loved my srt4 cause well... it was friggin fast haha

But yea fwd ftl def... my best time was a 13.0 @105 and best trap was 13.7 @ 110.... 13.7 @ 110?!?!?! FTL!!!!!!!!!!! stock tires and stock suspension..
the car only had 2 mods so thats why I loved my srt... but the clutch exploded making the car toast... car was brand new too....(It's too easy to raise the boost espcially with race gas haha) I ran that car 3 times a week until the day it exploded... it was a good time (not the explode part)

110 in an evo gets you some pretty good times too.

It's a great deal. Yea, fwd will be a pain, but for the money it's a deal. This is the day of the hot rod fwd. Look how many fwd cars out there will do 0-60 in under 6 seconds. Ten to fifteen years ago, it took a big V8 or expensive import to do that. It's hard to beat the cheap speed available these days.

true that..

I think now that people see what these srt's and cobalts and what not are doing, they begin to get a lot more respect. Honestly.. It's the "ricers" that love to turn these cars down because they feel it's the cool thing to do haha.. they arn't true enthusiast.
