Came across 4G63T AWD Dodge Avenger

So I was looking around online for my friend for Duster motor swaps, and I came across a forum, off that I found this guy and his cardomain

Never seen/knew this was a feasible swap to do. Pretty awesome though if you ask me. A nice alternative to an Eclipse/Talon.

Thats some nice work. I can appreciate the time and effort to do this. How much did you spend on the job total?

Absolutely incredible. I wish there were more pics of the undercarriage/suspension. Cool find.

not really amazing, the dodge avenger and 2nd gen DSM share the same unibody.

I always wanted to do the swap myself, but never had the opportunity.

I always liked the look of the avenger, something I've pondered as a project.

Ditto, stole the words right out of my mouth.

I've done that conversion on a DSM before, it's nothing spectacular. Actually a lot easier than most people make it out to be. Still a nice find.

unfortunately the Sebring Convertible shared characteristics of the stratus sedan/chrysler cirrus sedan as opposed to the Avenger/Sebring coupes which were eclipse based so it would need a whole lot of fab work.

I do however believe I have the only manual transmission first gen sebring convertible in existence as I swapped the tranny back in 2002. All Neon/PT Cruiser/Stratus parts. Chrysler did stick a 2.7L V6 w/ 5speed in one as a show vehicle for when they came out with the 2nd gen GTC version but I heard that got destroyed soon afterwards.

It's a waste of time and money and virtually every one attempted has failed. There's no point to putting a 4g63 into a 2gnt IMO, everything is different, you could just buy a 2g that came powered by the 4g63 from the factory. There's not even a sleeper benefit from it because the car could have came that way from the beginning

Haha, I totally was about to call you out on it and then realized it was you Steve

Do you have any documentation or anything showing your work replacing the 420a with a 4g63. I know a whole community that would love to see one done properly (even though most know you can buy a gst/x for the same price when all is said an done)
