It has decent tq. I don't think upping the hp would be too difficult with the right mods+tune.

 

C'mon, you believe diesel will become the main stay in the US market.

Those specs are whacked, too much techno-whiz-bang.

 

No. I mean all the people buying Diesel pick up trucks to be city 4x4's must just buy them because they like having to spend money on a different kind of fuel.

 

I'd run that thing on vegetable oil. ^_^

Diesel on trucks is different.

Since the mid-70, full size trucks (due to gov't leasing programs) have out sold the #1 car sale near 2 or 3 to 1 ratio. Ford at its height sold 1.1 to 1.3 million trucks in just 1 freaking year. Cars don't even touch it. It'll take a combined top ten cars in overall sales to even even peek near truck sales.

Put diesel in the car, it's a futile attempt. As for diesel in a VW . . . is it outselling the chevy cavvy? Otherwise, it's not even a bother.

Hell, some stations in FL have diesel prices higher than super unleaded, depending on season!
