Who cares what your 30k Evo maybe capable of with mods? Can it do what the 85k car does stock? No it doesnt. Mod for mod regardless of price the GTR will probably still destroy an Evo in a straight line. Not to mention the Evo doesnt handle as well either.

**** up a rope hot shot. Its a very fair comparison if you compare dollar investments. Granted, stock for stock it will kick an evo's butt....I should hope so for 85K. For half the cost, an evo VIII or IX can outperform the GT-R in every catagory. Its an awesome car in stock form but its not the baddest thing on the planet.

0-60 in 3.3? well what happens after that? i think this car is all hype and will never live up to the older models like the r34 r33 r32..those were pure bread race machines that will go down in history as the best nissan ever.!! lets not forget the supra either...i can almost bet that if this gtr comes..toyota will drop the supra and kill that gtr.!! i guess we will all have to wait and see..i can just see it now..everyone is gonna try and get their hands on the gtr.but when they get one..itll be too late when the supra comes and they will be like dam i shulda waited..

 

There will always be a better car coming out. Such is life. The GT-R will hold its own just fine. If the supra does outperform the GT-R, it won't be by much I'd imagine and its slated to be over 100K I think, yes?

 

I don't get it. I guess since the GTR was never imported to the US, the old models have taken on some mythical status with abilities far beyond what they originally possessed. The new model betters the older models in every way tested, with the exception of the $200k + R34 Z Tune. I have no idea where this crazy notion comes from, but you can find US magazines that tested the original models and they were no where near as fast as the R35. And yes, they even tested some modified GTRs that can't match the current models stock performance.

The only uncertainty is if the current model will take the abuse the older models would. To this question, the Nissan engineers that designed and built the car claim yes it will. Judging by the R35's stock performance, there is no reason to doubt them.
