checked out the STi today...
this was the first one i've really got to look at closely... i was pretty impressed...
the white looked really good, and the gold wheels looked good as well... pictures of them, never did them justice...
one thing that really stuck out to me was the tires... the sidewalls on those things were so flat... they more or less made a 90 angle from the sidewall and the tread...
the hodd scoop was kinda ehhhh... and the wing was not to my liking as much as the EVO, but the visibility was near the same...
seats were pretty nice, i liked the full suede like material as opposed to the EVO's cloth insert...
i didn't like the way the gearshifter looked, but it seemed as though the throws were a littler shorter than the EVO's...
the insturment cluster beats the EVO's hands down... we're talking BMW vs Kia here... Mitsu could have done a little more work on the cluster... but no radio in the STi is so lame...
one thing i really liked was the door glass was not framed... i don't know why, i just like that... makes for less area for people to fingerprint your **** up...!
price was 32,5000 with a boost gauge installed... overall i liked the car, but would not chose it over the EVO...
and what is the deal with the pink...? that would be the first thing i would change if i had one... pink badges on a MANS car is a no-no...

NO WINDOW FRAMES!!!
man my last car had no window frames...and it sucked...cause after a while the windows if their only half down with shake when you hit bumps...and then things get loose in the doors it self and then you hear chatter when you hit bumps....it really sucks...
but back to the sti....did you notice that the clutch and the brake are too close together....my feet hit eachother when i sat in one....and yeah the shifter does look funny...i didn't like the spacing of the gears though...the evo just felt more natural...on top of that the ratio in the sti is so not practical....i mean their sixth gear has a higher ratio then our fifth gear...how dumb is that...you are going to be shifting all day long...if i get a six speed i want a true six speed where the sixth gear is a true highway cruising at 85-90 at 3000 rpm kind of sixth gear....just my opinion

well, the blue in the seats did not look bad... and the rear seats look a little nicer than ours too...
are the rears in the EVO Recaro as well, or just covered in the same material...?
i didn't really notice the positioning of the pedals... cause i did not drive it... i was just sitting in it...

From a car that also comes equipped with light blue escaine seats, an atrocious rear wing, rattling hood scoop and gold wheels would you really expect anything less?

It's not an Eclipse so do not fret. :-)
In my Eclipse I had a lot of trouble with it's frameless windows (like with many more quality
parts). In my WRX on the other hand there was nothing to complain about. So do not generalize, please.

Sorry dude, but my WRX's windows do chatter when they are half down... Very unsupportive.. And, in a few years the window seals WILL start to leak.. A framed window is always better...

Moms cousin has a WRX, a year old, windows chatter and sometimes theres a problem with air finding its way between the window and the seal when closed. SO please dont re-generalize...
I like cars that don't have window frames. It gives me a feeling of it being more sporty. There isn't anything wrong with my Eclipse window frames so far. So I don't know what you guys are talking about. I wish the Evo had frameless windows.
Frameless windows rock!!!! It does make it more sporty. I had em on my Probe GT....Yes i said probe. But hey she was fast. Especially with the long doors, and when u open em with the windows down. Looks Sexy... God I miss her. But ya back on topic, I think the pics dont do the STi justice. Sure I would rather have an evo. But Its still a nice car....

I love frameless windows now that I'm used to them. One time I got in a car with frames, and the window was down, and I was leaning out talking to someone and shut the door. Ouch!

Good info, I never knew that. Only problem is that here in the States pink is the color of a butt warrior.

Well, at least I learned something new and that explains why Yashiro Factory (spelling?) has pink Silvias and people love them. I can respect that... to each his own.As far as the STi goes. IMHO, that car looks the best in white. Especially when it's equipped with a low slung suspension.
